I don't think you have even looked at his injury record????? We have signed many, many players with much worse injury records than his. With that mentality you would rarely sign anybody. He had one big injury when he was 18. Apart from that up until last season he had missed a total of 42 days through injury over 9 seasons. Is that really a bad injury record? I must be missing something here!!! Some bizarre comments on this thread with absolutely no evidence of fact checking. Competitive games played below (League and Cup) Just cannot see how this is in anyway a poor injury record!!! 16/17 - 47 17/18 - 34 18/19 - seems to have spent the season in Southampton Reserves in PL? Was injured for 5 weeks apparently. 19/20 - 44 20/21 - 39 21/22 - 39 22/23 - 39 23/24 - 27 how many of them games did he start ?? According to whoscored he's got 195 starts in 290 appearances in his career.

Can we send this guy back and ask for a refund? No but they might pretend to give us £2.5M for Baker to soothe our wounds. Only catch is we have to take yet another deep lying midfielder to add to the 36 (or is it 37 has the Jap signed yet?) we already have, to get it. Always a bloody catch.

The guy must be laughing his socks off. Known bad injury record but gets a three year lucrative contract from a leading charitable institution. Enda Stevens and Gallagher just typify the desperation and bad decision making at this club. How many other clubs were queuing for their signatures and, in Gallagher's case willing to pay a significant fee for the privilege? Rhetorical question by the way.

Stoke fans laying in to a player who’s only just signed ….whod of thought it
We have of course been here many times before and as usual they cover it with. “ I hope I’m proved wrong of course”
It’s always best to give people a chance first

37 pages of bashing a new signing who hasn’t even started a league game. Bloody fantastic.

He literally just broke down, not sprinting, not under challenge, not in some freak accident. Yeah it’s pretty fucking annoying and how a medical failed to detect such a weakness god only knows. There wasn’t an event, we bought damaged goods.

Still at least Coates saw past the injury and his faith paid off with one of our biggest cult heroes. And before you say you can't predict a broken leg, most of the people giving hatred at the moment would have been asking why we had given Rory a contract because you never properly come back from an injury like that. And I'm not sure you can predict a muscle strain.

Especially after the Blackburn journo pretty much said this would happen It took all of 29 minutes for him to break down again.

You're still going down the same road of hanging him out to dry...and the management team. You're conflating your argument to prove your point. Let's get him back and see what he offers over the course of the season.

Blackburn said "a couple of weeks" in September last season, he didn't get fit until January. Like I said previously in this thread, I'll have a wager with anyone that he doesn't play more than 50% of the league games.

And I'm not sure you can predict a muscle strain. Yes this club has some of the strangest cult hero’s imaginable. A jobbing midfielder who happened to be able to throw a football long and flat. Point is he didn’t bring the broken leg into the club Gallagher obviously did bring that calf weakness into the club and yes a previous injury that isn’t properly healed can be detected and an everyday muscle strain shouldn’t take months to heal there is obviously an underlying problem. Neither have I seen any hatred just questioning the decision to buy a low scoring striker with a poor recent injury record especially from my point of view when a younger, fitter, faster, more combative forward with a better recent goal scoring record moved for an affordable fee within a few days (BTA). I’m convinced Gallagher has attributes that will prove to be useful but think the signing was ill judged considering a comparison of what was available and the fact that we had the money for something better as proved by spending it on something we weren’t desperate for shortly after(Lawal). These decisions are on JW and LD who seem to be struggling badly to build anything like a coherent squad.

Your last sentence is quite telling and has been an issue at the club since the last two years of Sparky's reign. No matter who is in charge, we just can't ever seem to recruit a balanced and effective squad. How can so many people, keep getting it so badly wrong?
