Money must be tight if he's the main striker target?
Doesn't really appear to move the needle much?

Deal to include Laurent going the other way?

Stoke City want Blackburn Rovers striker Sam Gallagher - but are ‘well apart’ on valuations.
Gallagher was left out of the pre season game at Wigan as the Potters try to broker a deal but the clubs are currently not close to agreement.
The target man is in the last year of his contract but Rovers will want a decent fee for him, probably over £1 million.
Stoke know that the wages would be high to attract Gallagher and so they are pitching the offer low.
Blackburn are also close to losing Sammie Szmodics so the Gallagher interest has come at a bad time.

It comes as no surprise this one. I’d be fine with it if we sign a goal scorer as well.

Always felt he’d end up here at one stage, weren’t we interested when he was at Southampton?

Maybe offer Ennis as part of a swap?

I think it’ll be him and Cannon. I mean he’s the defenition of a mobile target man, but think i’d of still preffered Armstrong or Ugbo.

I'm (just about) OK if he's coming in relatively cheap and as a Plan B who you know on with 20/30 minutes left and want to go more direct, think that's the type of player we've missed for some time.
If he's the headline striker then Christ on a bike.

Good thing about Gallagher is whoever he plays alongside, tends to score 20+ goals.
Pretty sure no Blackburn fan would’ve foreseen Sammie’s 25 goals this time last year.
Could he bring the best out of someone already here?
If we could get Cannon on loan too, we’d be looking a lot better.

Maybe offer Ennis as part of a swap? We signed Ennis from them so I doubt they want him back

Ipswich tried to sign him in the winter, and they haven't got much wrong recently.

He ragged our defenders about at their place last season. He’s a handful but not a goalscorer.

Really wanted Ugbo, want Cannon too but Ugbo and Cannon are quite similar so if it’s Gally and one of them it would be ok, still hoping we get better than Gallagher but we’ll have to wait and see, it’s more underwhelming than the 5mil+ budget on a striker we thought we’d be getting

If we sign another forward as well, I don't mind it.

Would you play Lowe, Tezgel, Ennis or Gallagher as our main striker? I certainly know I'd have Gallagher by a country mile compared to those other 3 mentioned here! Would have chosen BTA if possible, but maybe that one is out of reach. I'd keep Laurent and give them Baker instead if possible too!

Put him on the left of a 3, which allows Bae to not be shunted out wide.
Bring in a more central striker with decent movement off the ball and we’ll start scoring. Gallagher has been an excellent support player for years.

Maybe offer Ennis as part of a swap? Signing Ennis and Cundle in January caused a rift between Jared Dublin and SS. Was the reason behind JDs eventually exit. No chance Ennis leaves as it'll be the hierarchy admitting they messed up.

Absolutely no surprise at all.
Hes big, quick, works really hard. Doesn’t score many himself but one who is missed when not in the side. Doesn’t set the pulse racing but the reality is championship teams need a player like this in their squad. If he scored a lot as well he would be in the premier league.
We were in for Armstrong for a couple of million and he’s a similar sort of profile for around 1m quid so it makes sense if we are clearly after a player of that type.
Like others say. If you can get a premier league loanee in as well up front then it transforms our forward line.
He instantly improves our side whether people think it or not.
Him and Souttar would definitely improve us

Our striking options are crap as it is and he ain’t the answer. Just have to hope there are at least two, preferably three surprises as we don’t have anyone you would bet your house on to score anywhere near 15 goals.

Soon to be 29 and doesn’t score goals? Sounds about right. He works ‘ard though so it’s got Walters all over this one.
