But dealing with the miserable, "chip on their shoulder" Francophone attitude more than makes up for it.😑 The English speaking Canadians are noticeably more friendly.

Yes Canadians are generally very nice The French are fine, it's the Parisiens who give them a bad name

Agree the memorial is well done, went back only once but found it difficult.

Thoroughly recommended the One Vanderbilt tower (next to Grand Central) in the evening when all the city lights are on. Get tickets online to jump the queue. The ferries are cheap and a great way to go up and down the rivers taking in the views.

Is there anything better than a gorgeous, stinky craft ipa in a microbrewery when you're abroad?

I like both I hope I never see Memphis ever again I thought similar about Miami, an absolute cess pool (I include Miami Beach in that too) Not my fave place, yep . A while since I was there Going to Manila, Bangkok and Koh Samui next month to catch up with a few folk. Samui not the place it was and thinking of giving it a miss. Full of wannabe hippies who have come to find themselves and all that nonsensical shite in their beer vests and braided hair. and hoping to get to Phnom Penh instead if have time. Stopping in India 2 nights on the way back but f- me can't remember where. Should pay more attention. I once went to the wrong departure airport for a flight in the UK. One of those who pack an hour before I leave for a flight etc. as long as passport and money all is good. Missing QPR away...what a sickner

Boston is my favourite American city followed by Nashville and Savannah for a smaller town. I find New York a bit dull tbh.

I also drove through some spectacularly rough neighbourhoods in Memphis. I was fortunate that it was early in the morning so not too many people about and not too many red lights. Still I was relieved to get out into the countryside.

Not interested in all the Elvis stuff, same with MLK but the only place have seen a Dunkin Donuts that looked like the army barracks in Crossmaglen it was so protected from theft.
