Ben Gibson is a perfectly adequate centre half for our current status in the championship. The same people who are hammering him and calling all names under the sun are also the same people who say the same things about Rose and Wilmot. Are any of them good enough for the PL or a top 6 championship team - well, no. But we aren’t that! We can’t even get into the top half of the league. Also, he’s also only 31 so he’s not old. Fuck This obsession with youth for youths sake…! It’s not youth for youths sake. Our best centre half is an 18 year old. Phillips and Dixon and Tchamadue all need someone to talk them through games Gibson clearly does that,as does Enda however unlike Enda have been disappointed in Gibsons own performance levels, was expecting much better

If we could afford it,we need to replace Wilmot,Rose & Gibson. Our defence realy needs improving,we ain't going anywhere with most of the defenders we now have.

One thing that slightly concerned me yesterday, was seeing our skipper so quick to attribute blame on a teammate. Their goal may well have been the keepers fault but I didn't think Gibsons reaction was a good look.
He did well to get the winner though and don't want to be negative after a good result.

I might have missed something but I didn't particularly see him trying to attribute blame on anyone. In the highlights clip you can see him saying "Where the fuck was he going" which was clearly in answer to a team mates question and referring to Viktor. In fairness I said exactly the same thing - Where the fuck was he going? But after that I didn't see any great drama or fall out. The blame hinges on whether Viktor called for it or not and the reaction of the two players would indicate that he didn't so it's 100% on him but I didn't see Gibson make a meal of it either way.

Keepers don’t stay between the posts 🤣they come for stuff all the time. Should he have come for that? Probably not. Gibson should have just headed back the way it came. Again another basic. He didn’t check where the keeper was and then put it between the posts. It was shit defending from a shit defender. Should he have come for that? Definitely not. The end. Nope. He headed it with a bit of pace straight towards the goal without instruction or checking. Vik not blameless but Gibson was poor and he’s been way below what I was expecting. He should be dropped for Rose

Played well, as he did at Blackburn.
Couple of bad passes when trying to play through the lines, sloppy for an experienced player but it will happen and we have to be patient….

He looked just as good as their two centre halves today & they are supposedly two of the best in the Champo. Got a rick or two in him & not the quickest but that’s why he’s not premier league standard. Obvious that he’s a leader though & can’t understate his importance in a pretty inexperienced championship team. Got to take the rough with the smooth with him.

Because the refs in this league haven’t got a clue and we dont have a striker. Millwall to me looked every bit as bad as Derby the week before.

Fair play - his goals have won us more points than Tom Cannon so far. If he can figure out how to defend we’re on to something.

I thought they looked well organised and like an experienced outfit with a clear game plan. Their recent results would suggest that too.

Millwall to me looked every bit as bad as Derby the week before. The refs in this league have been like this for seven years now. They ain’t changing anytime soon from what I can see. All power to them if they keep getting away with it. It’s how we got out of this league last time under TP.👍🏼 Oh & our striker has scored 7 in 13…😉

He was our weakest player today it has to be said.
But popped up with a goal from a corner again and ill give him his due, he is VERY vocal on the pitch to other players and he is clearly a leader.
I can totally understand why hes the first name on the teamsheet, despite being as dodgy as Wilmot and Rose in central defence. We have such a young team that Gibson does look important in keeping players heads in the game

Think this is a pretty fair assessment. Millwall have always had teams that grind out games without offering much, but I thought they looked pretty organised today in shutting us out. Granted we need to be quicker and more inventive with the ball going forward but we’re looking better with each game. January could be a shitshow mind you if certain loans get recalled and “our” players don’t step up. Much to be optimistic about though; Gibson certainly wasn’t the worst on the pitch today, regardless of how he’s regarded overall.

3 headed goals in 3 games. Can’t argue that he doesn’t know how to find the net at each end
