Failed in all competitions? He’s won every single trophy that he could possibly win at Liverpool bar the Europa cup and he would of completed that had Seville not beaten them in the final Failed in all competitions is not what he’ll be remembered for in years to come Failed this season, and it's always the last memory that counts. Yeah, Brian Clough is fondly remembered in Nottingham for his final season when Forest were relegated. That First Division title the year after they were promoted, two European Cups and a couple of League Cups mean absolutely nothing. Honestly, what garbage some people spout.

I think you're overrating money in this particular context. Pep had far less money at Barcelona than Madrid, yet they still played better and won more trophies during his relatievly short stay as manager there. Stoke has more money than most Championship clubs but still finish bottom third. Citeh finish above Liverpool, because Pep is a better tactician than Klopp. Not that JK isn't a good manager. He's a more relaxed person with a great sense of humour, whereas Guardiola hovers on manic behaviour at times. I've always rated JK, ever since he was manager at Mainz and sometime later became one of the best experts, almost like a good teacher, on German TV. I hope he will again this summer. I don't think Pep is a better manager than Klopp, Pep has been able to buy whoever he wants and has stacked his squad and bench with top players. Klopp has had to build teams with far less available to him and he has still managed to put out teams that have managed to compete at the highest level. Klopp hasn't been able to replace superstars with superstars during matches like Pep can. Pep has won 1 Champions League with Man City which I would say given what he has had available to him is pretty poor I agree. Guardiola also failed to win the Champions League with a Bayern team that really should have won the Champions League.

Pep’s a good manager but let’s be honest he’s never been in a job where he has had to build. The teams he takes over are already serial winnners.
He’s no Schumacher!

I feel sorry for JK but not for Salah or Liverpool. JK should have stood down when the announcement was made, and he would have been mentioned in the final annals right next to Shankly. At first the eulogies were great, but the players have stopped playing for him, and now he will be remembered as the manager who failed in all competitions. I can see them becoming the next Manure...can't see Slot doing much for them, and he will be gone within a year or two. Then they'll appoint Gerrard and he will be a disaster as their manager. Then they'll appoint anyone to get them out of trouble, maybe even a Dyche type of manager. I think he’s more likely to be mentioned as the best manager they’ve had in 40 years than one who failed in all competitions. Liverpool had been relatively shit for decades before he came along.

Seems his star striker is a sulky mardarse! Probably thinks why he should bother toeing the line with a manager who won’t be there. Can’t see Salah being there next season. 32 and off to Saudi.

The gift that just keeps giving. His season has imploded, and now falling out with star striker couldn’t happen to a nicer bloke. All about him. All the time. Glad he’s failed. Strange definition of failure! Steered Liverpool to more serious silverware than anyone this century. Wish we could fail like that.

He has also won more against Pep than Pep has against him despite Klopp being in a period where he had to build Liverpool from a pretty average team.

Klopp has definitely descended into a jaded, angry, bitter figure which is exactly why I assume he's calling it a day and he's well aware of it. The way he speaks to some journalists these days is disgusting and he's anything but the fun, loveable guy who arrived here in 2015.
That said, on balance, I'll reluctantly say he's done a good job at Liverpool. They were in a bad way when he took over and he made them Champions of the world.

He left because his sister in law died and he wanted to spend more time with his heartbroken wife Cathy. Also, he was 71 and wanted to make sure he could enjoy retirement while he had the energy to do so. Remember, they're people as well.

There is a school of thought that he believes in his own hype and sadly for him it’s embarrassing In hindsight yes, I'm sure he thought it'd galvanise them but it's had the opposite effect. 😁 How far they look behind Arse and Citeh looks like a good decision! Salah will probably go, Virgil maybe!
