Best case scenario, when do we potentially get Junior back for?.

I was hoping he'd get in the England set up I'd imagine Cameroon are trying to snuff out that possibility I know they changed the rules recently but he'll be ineligible now I think by the end of the AFCON It was one game previously as with the Harry Kane situation have mentioned before about 27 times which would have made him ineligible for England but they relaxed it 2 or 3 years ago. As far as I can work out, he can't change after this tournanent if he plays the further games.

Best case scenario, when do we potentially get Junior back for?. Cameroon's last group game is next Tuesday 23rd so if they don't make it through he should be back and available for the Sunderland game on the 27th.

He seems like the type of player to keep himself match-ready despite a lack of minutes but hopefully he doesn’t come back and take a while to get going again.

It’s a big blow to our survival hopes for sure we can only hope he is back for the QPR 6 pointer dog fight .

Apart from being right footed he is not a good defender, poor at closing down see Plymouth for example. Stevens is the best left back we have. Against a team with a proper right winger, Thompson will be badly exposed - at Watford against their average winger he was constantly on the edge

Not really, it's good experience for him. Gooch is fit. He's played less than 20 minutes of football in their 3 games and didn't make it on at all last night. I agree the whole being picked by your country and the atmosphere and such is good, but he's not exactly gaining any play time. I was very much hoping for them to go out at the group stages last night. Don't want Hoever in the side and Gooch is back up rather than starter quality.

He’ll be training with an international side daily for a massive tournament. It’s a huge step up for him and if anything, it’ll hopefully make him more hungry to be at that level for their next tournament.

Gooch has been absolutely fine when he’s started better than fine, he's definitely shown consistent good performances in several positions if/when we play with wingbacks would paly Gooch on the left & Junior on the right however Thompson & Leris can also play there I actually think Hoever has been fine when playing in the 3 but atrocious defensively when playing full back or wing back , no need to play him there at all Hoever won't be here (I assume) next season & neither will Stephens so a new left back/WLWB in the summer makes sense

Clinton N’Jie has retired from international football for Cameroon citing corruption and tribalism as the main reasons.
Apparently English speaking players are overlooked in favour of natives despite footballing ability.
If his words hold any substance then that could explain why Junior hasn’t been playing because he’s comfortably one of the best Cameroonian players on the planet currently, they’re not quite the team they used to be.

Good. I imagine a lot of players wonder why those with far less affinity to a country should play for them simply because their parents or grandparents once lived there.
