It’s a shame he’s a right back and we have 7 million really good ones because I honestly think he’d be within a shout for England 2/3 years if things go well. ... hmm, I think you're stretching it. Why? He’s just turned 20 and looking very good in the Championship. Totally at ease. Move to the PL aged 21/22 and have one good season and you’re a candidate for England. If he was a left back he’d be the regular for the U21s how good he is.

He's played for Cameroon now, not sure what type of game. What are the rules about representing other nations?

That's a bit rich coming from you Anyway, Junior is some player and it's unbelievable that Alex Neil saw fit not to play him, it's staggering. We just need to enjoy watching him whilst he's here, because one things for certain, of he carries on playing and improving like he has/inevitably will, he won't be with us for long.

It’s a strange one with Junior though isn’t it? Neil tracked him all over the summer and rated him highly enough to sign him, eventually put him in the team and then inexplicably dropped him when he was playing well. Why would a manager, who lives and dies by his results, do something like that? There must have been a fall out?

I wouldn't be surprised if that does happen this summer. He will already have been on clubs radars before we signed him, and if he stays injury free he will definitely be on Premier League clubs' radars.

Why would a manager, who lives and dies by his results, do something like that? There must have been a fall out? Football managers at this level are generally awful. To a man, awful. Why anyone holds them in high regard is beyond me.

Dunno, it's staggering beyond belief though and like you say, this was a player Neil had tracked and seemingly busted a gut go sign. Impossible to know what goes on behind the scenes but the way we were playing did show signs of a squad not giving a fuck about what their manager was telling them to do, so perhaps there is something in what you say. I know one thing though, not playing him has certainly played a big part in him losing his job.

As Ipswich have shown, the gap between league 1 and the championship isn’t insurmountable. There’s good players to be had in the lower leagues.

We'd have had a decent left back for peanuts if we'd have signed Pickering a couple of years ago.

He's played for Cameroon now, not sure what type of game. What are the rules about representing other nations? Used to be 1 competitive game but think is 3 now. Martin O'Neill was keen to get Harry Kane to play in a Euro qualifier but he was called up for England U21 that month and changed his mind, he wouldn't have been able to represent England had he played , think the rule has changed since then and now 3 games. Junior has played 1 full international but will possibly be ineligible soon for England with Cameroon games coming up if was ever to happen. Jack Charlton tried the same with Gascoigne but he wasn't interested

Yeah I think we need to be more aggressive on these deals because they’ll pay off more than a bigger signing. The fact we almost missed out on Tchamadeu because of haggling would’ve been so Stoke. We need to learn from this one and make sure we get who we want if we rate them highly enough.

I'd have to say that the nicest thing about the win was watching just how bloody awesome Junior is. That edged Vidigal's chip.
Also Thompson had an excellent game.
