I actually heard some passion from RS yesterday, Sohail was absolutely raging for his standards for most of the match

Not a patch om Nige but I like Sohail. Seems a decent lad.

I’m not a fan, but he’s not been given the greatest games to commentate on.
No wonder he has to describe everything else going on. Nothing happens on the bloody pitch.
Showed a bit of passion at the end yday which was good to hear.

Let's have no beating around the bush with regard to Sohail, he's absolutely wank I think he’s decent, the football has been absolutely wank but it’s not the commentators fault. His first few games were bad but he has improved massively. Clive Clarke aside, the co-commentary is as bad as ever though.

What annoys me most is they never ask a difficult question !
Alex thoughts ? What are the positives? What are the key moments ?
Why not
Why is vidigal not playing in his favourite position ? Why don’t keep changing the tactics and players , why do the players still show no intensity!
yes they have to tread a line but at least make it a fine line ,

I really think he wanted to probe and press and felt frustrated at not being able to.

It could be John Motson or Barry Davis commentating, the fact is they have no direct association with Stoke - same as Sohail. I'd just like a local. It is Radio Stoke after all

Sohail is not a patch on prime Nige but neither is he as awful as many are suggesting.

He's fine. The co-comms he's asked to work with on the other hand are embarrassing. Crannie sounds bored to tears, Pej is completely incoherent, and Denis is so reluctant to provide any critique. Clive Clarke every week would make Sohail's job significantly easier.

Sohail is quoted in the BBC’s coverage of Schumacher’s appointment, and he’s managed to crowbar a dig at Stoke fans in. He says: “The expectation - and believe me there is an expectation from the Stoke supporters - will be a new experience for Schumacher.” Is that fair? The only expectation from me is for the club to punch at its weight for the first time in years - be competitive, play some attacking football, not lose turgid, forgettable games at home twice a month. I don’t think that’s too much to ask for a club of Stoke City’s size when we’re in the second tier, and I don’t think it amounts to massive expectation. If Schumacher took a job anywhere the fans would want that. I am not expecting to win every week, and don’t know anyone who is. This guy really pisses me off. Seems very petty.
Pretty much everyone outside of Stoke expects this club to be doing a lot better than they are, nevermind the fans.
I'm already looking forward to Sohail describing Schumacher's "black trainers with a white sole" as Millwall are bearing down on our goal on Saturday.

I was talking to my mate from near Wrexham the other day ( he gets to games when he can) saying" I 'm lucky I only have to listen to Sohail for away games". I said I do feel sorry for you having to listen to Radio Stoke because when I listen i never know who has or where the ball is , he replied If you cant listen to the whole game you dont know the score either !!!!!

The Solhail(sp?) guy just seems to talk for the sake of talking. He doesn't always seem interested in the game, but rambles on about anything that catches his eye. He must love the sound of his own voice and probably thinks he's too knowledgeable for a Stokie public. I was a critic of Nigel Johnsons authoritative style but at least he recognised that the game happening now was what the Radio-Stoke audience tuned in for.

He is just making the valid point that the expectations at Plymouth are simply to survive in the Championship while Stoke fans rightfully expect their team to be competitive and at least make a challenge for the playoffs.

I still think he's a pretty poor commentator though!
