After the euphoria of game 1's 7-0 drubbing they seem to be doing OK. Personally I'd like to see them promoted again, just to take my lad to his 1st ever Potteries Derby...

I was impressed with their at the weekend until I realised it was against 9 men. Can’t see them staying up there to be honest.

Would actually love them to get promoted.
Get some games with true atmosphere and a full ground for a change.

The rivalry wasn't bitter in the 70s. I went Vale Park when we won in a friendly. During second half loads of the Stoke fans invaded the pitch and ran over and invaded Vale's end. I thought it was going kick off but it didnt. Turned out quite a few of the opposing fans knew each other, from work or family or whatever. It was like "ey up such and such ow you doing? Are you in work tomorrow?" And such like. (So my mates who got in there told me, I personally didnt make it cos when I got on the pitch a massive copper literally picked me up and threw me back over the wall lol). Anyway, all the fans just stood and watched the rest of the match together peaceably.

Why do we keep having to go through this shite? I’m running out of creative ways to tell people how little I’d ever want to play that lot. Bunch of fuckfaced wanker whores, the lot of them.

Our current team would let them kick the shit out us us though apart from Pearson and Burger. With Pearson picking up his second yellow 6 minutes in.

Not sure how anyone who was at those games in the late 90s/early 2000s coukd want them back again. Usually drab affairs but the scum always seemed to rise to the occasion yet we rarely did
The Sheron game in 97 is the only one I can remember us really putting them to the sword. Think weve onky beaten them knce since moving to the current ground

Think weve onky beaten them knce since moving to the current ground I always found Stockport more annoying in the fact that we often couldn't handle them and they seemed to have us in their pockets way too often despite the Wembley win. Never care about Port Vale at all and the derby games were dull on the whole. Never really got carried away about playing or beating a team like that, local or not.

I’d be delighted never to play them again.

Just wish I'd have gone to the 2-0 reverse fixture up in burslum.

After all these years I think it would be a fantastic occasion. I'd love to piss all over them.

Not sure about the derbies which, as someone has pointed out were usually negative affairs and very painful for the losers, but I would like to see both clubs doing well. Stoke on Trent needs any positive’s going.

Too young to properly remember the last potteries derby and I'm happy for that, or to never play them again. We only ever play them regularly when we're in a rut as a club and/or they're doing very well. I think Vale get far more from beating us then we do them. We are a club that have beaten every top side in the past decade, not to mention an FA Cup final, League Cup semi final and european football within living memory.
Or course, if we could do them 7-0 that would be fantastic and funny. But get a feeling it'll end badly for us. On and off the pitch.
