Well despite what some may think, we obviously haven’t got a bottomless pit of money.
He looks as though he would be able to lead the line without a problem and has the physical attributable most of us have being saying we need up front. He’s played to a decent standard scoring in the top league in Portugal and making a number of appearances for Montenegro (not to be underestimated). And will probably cost no more than 2m.
If Neil and Jared think he’s worth a punt then I’m quietly optimistic.
We always moan we don’t take punts on these foreign players other teams seem to pick up for cheap so we can’t start moaning now. I’d wager he will be a hell of a lot cheaper than Keifer Moore in both fee and wages. Happy to take a gamble.
A big Wesley or Osamjic up front with the likes of Vidigal/Mmaee/Bae/Campbell/Leris behind looks a nice balance to me.

We have to look for best value I guess, alot would push for say Cannon from Everton, but with English prices being so inflated, would something like this be much better value?.

Counter Attack Demon? Is that a phase from PES 6? I think I like the idea of having a Counter Attack Demon in the team. Sounds like the bastard love child of FM and World of Warcraft. Just need to sign a Set Piece Wizard and a left sided Crusher Troll - it would literally transform the team.

He's described as an inside forward rather than a main target man and the last clip suggests he's quick and suited to counter attacking football. Sounds like a different option to Wesley when we need an outlet.

Sounds like a different option to Wesley when we need an outlet. From the limited clips I’ve seen of him he definitely looks to be a main central striker playing down the middle. The Cadiz paper even describes him as a ‘battering ram’. That doesn’t have to mean he’s not quick or that’s he completely one dimensional. He looks the sort that we’ve been needing really. Big and physical who can bring others into play whilst also chipping in with a reasonable amount of goals himself. It’s probably fair to say that he’s not going to be a poacher type who will score 20 plus goals a season. But without seeing him up close we won’t fully know. We’ve just got to hope that Neil and Jared do and have seen enough in him think he’s what we need.

Hmmm. Obviously don’t know anything about this fella. But I think I’d have preferred Stewart or Cannon, they’ve shown they can score in this league. Me too. A lot of our signings are gambles which is exciting. But I'd rather a safer bet in this position This guy hasn’t scored many in any league. At least Mmaee had scored in Cyprus and Hungary.

He looks like an ideal fit for this league. As another Brown, he’d be fine but he’s not a reliable goalscorer.

I mean the guy has only just turned 24. I’ve got no more of an idea than you do but I aren’t going to write him off without seeing him play a few games…

At least Mmaee had scored in Cyprus and Hungary. www.transfermarkt.co.uk/milutin-osmajic/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/542819In his age-23 season, 8 in 31 isn't bad in a reasonable league like Portugal playing for a tiddler of a team. (works out as a goal every 255 mins) And in his age-22 season, 7 goals in 10 games, at 55 minutes a goal, in the Turkish 2nd tier the year before. Slim pickings, but there's something there. He's not an obvious signing though, and there's got to be a bit of concern there Jared and Al must think the data shows he's the *cough* profile they're looking for

The highest offer for Osmajic is from Stoke City, for a value of 1.5 million for 80% of the player, Cádiz intends to raise that amount or the % of future sale, but the negotiation today is on the right track, the player wants to go to England.
(no idea if this is a credible source)

'We' are the people in this thread discussing how Stewart and cannon are safer options than Majic when signing a proven goal scorer. We already have players who don't score but can help others to score. Someone actually needs to put the ball in the net.

Have a look at Viktor Gyökeres' goal scoring stats before he joined Coventry.
As Wezza has said, it's very difficult, without paying big, big, money, for middling Championship clubs to acquire proven goal scorers. And even when you do, unless you're successful, you can't hold on to them, as Coventry and Middlesbrough have found out.
You have to trust that your scouts have seen something in this lad.

Safer option, not a safe option. So because we've got a player who scored 4 goals we shouldn't bother trying to sign a goalscorer?

What same player he’s got less than half a seasons track record at this level, could have just been a blip. Certainly didn’t stand out as someone to covet in the only game I’ve knowingly seen him when he scored against us at home last season in their 0-1 win.
