Further to elusive tramp's post on the Big Thread.... this seems to be the Korean article www.footballist.co.kr/news/articleView.html?idxno=171877[Football List] Reporter Cho Hyo-jong = Daejeon Hana Citizen midfielder Bae Jun-ho has a chance to advance to the European stage. An official familiar with the soccer world said on the 22nd, "Stoke City sent Bae Jun-ho a recruitment offer. The Daejeon side is reviewing the proposal with the possibility open."
Attacking midfielder Bae Jun-ho, born in 2003, played an active role as a key member of Kim Eun-joong, who advanced to the semifinals at the 2023 Argentina U20 World Cup, imprinting his name on domestic soccer fans. Now we are aiming for the Paris Olympics. On the 22nd, he was named on the list for the first qualifying round for the Olympics and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U23 Asian Cup preliminary round announced on the 22nd. In the K-League, he has been consistently participating in matches and is being recognized for his potential. He is playing as a main U22 player for Daejeon and has scored 2 goals in 16 K-League 1 matches this season. Last month, he was selected as a member of the All-Star team K-League with prominent players and participated in the 2023 Coupang Play Series Atletico Madrid match. At that time, after the match, Atletico coach Diego Simeone pointed out Bae Jun-ho as the outstanding K-League player. Bae Jun-ho, who left a good impression on the international stage, began to attract interest from several European clubs. At a press conference held after the U20 World Cup as a player himself, he carefully expressed his intention to advance to Europe, saying, "If a good opportunity comes, I want to go out when I am young and experience a lot." Through the summer transfer window, he had a chance to advance to Europe. Multiple European clubs have approached Bae Jun-ho and Daejeon, and among them, Stoke is the most actively promoting recruitment.
Stoke is currently a member of the English Championship (Part 2), but is a club familiar to domestic soccer fans as it belongs to the English Premier League (EPL) until the 2017-2018 season. He competed in the EPL for 10 seasons and entered the top 10 for three consecutive seasons from the 2013-2014 season. Last season, they ranked 16th in the championship, but at the beginning of this season, they are in 8th place with 2 wins and 1 draw in 3 matches. Stoke, who wanted to sign Bae Jun-ho this summer, informed the player of the club's plan and sent a transfer fee proposal to Daejeon.
Daejeon, which was promoted to the K-League 1 this year, is competing fiercely to enter the Final A. Currently, they are in 7th place with 36 points, 5 points behind 3rd place Jeonbuk Hyundai and 2 points behind 9th place Jeju United. Although there are concerns about the close ranking battle, it is known that the proposal is being reviewed in a positive atmosphere considering the future of the player.

If he’s an attacking midfielder, could maybe see it.
But another winger? Can’t see it.
Unless we send a loanee back…

Pete Smith definitely posted about him based on a Korean tweet about a month ago, but can't find it. So sounds like this has been ongoing for a while as he maybe waited for better offers?

27 appearances for the 1st team. Would he definitely be one for our 1st team straightaway? You'd think so. u21 football is a graveyard. He seems too highly-rated to be anything other than in the first-team mix from the off if it happens unless there's some kind of loan plan? Bit of a jump from Korea to Stoke though.

Here we fucking go this is what I've wanted for years. Considering we were one of the early pioneers with Frank Soo, I have always felt we could be a bit more imaginative with that side of the world, the Bundesliga and teams like Celtic and Brighton have proven there is talent there and of course Son is a fantastic player for Spurs. Obviously I'm not expecting this lad to light the world on fire because I know fuck all about him but even off the pitch the commercial income for something like this could be HUGE for the club in a world where we are trying to be self sufficient.

www.yna.co.kr/view/AKR20230822116800007Stoke City, from England's second division, offers to sign Bae Jun-ho...Daejeon are "negotiating"
(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Songah Choi = Midfielder Bae Joon-ho (20), who took the lead in Korea's advance to the semifinals at this year's FIFA U-20 World Cup, was given a chance to advance to Europe. On the 22nd, an official from Bae Jun-ho's team, K-League 1 Daejeon Hana Citizen, said, "We received an offer from Stoke City in the second division of England and are negotiating."Bae Jun-ho, who turned 20 on August 21st, is an offensive midfielder who started his professional career by joining Daejeon, a K-League 2 team, last year. He scored 1 goal in 10 games including the playoffs last season, and is growing with more opportunities this year when Daejeon has been promoted to the first division. The record in the K-League 1 this season is 2 goals in 16 matches. In particular, Bae Jun-ho played the role of Kim Eun-joong's 'ace' in the U-20 World Cup held in Argentina from May to June of this year, helping Korea advance to the semifinals for the second consecutive time, making his name known. In the semi-final against Italy, he showed off his splendid individual skills even in the 1-2 defeat, receiving praise from the opposing coach, drawing attention not only in Korea but also abroad. It is known that there are European clubs interested in him after the World Cup, and Stoke City is said to have sent a specific proposal to Daejeon. Stoke City, a member of the English Second Division Football League (EFL) Championship, played in the Premier League (EPL) until the 2016-2017 season. Last season, it was ranked 16th in the EFL Championship, and in the recently started 2023-2024 season, it is ranked 8th with 2 wins and 1 loss until the 3rd round. In addition to Kim Yong-hak (Portimonense) and Lee Ji-han (Freiburg Team B), defender Kim Ji-soo stepped on the European stage after the World Cup. Kim Ji-soo, who played for Seongnam FC in the K-League 2, signed a contract with Brentford, an EPL team, in June and is currently playing for Team B. songa@yna.co.kr

We went to Singapore for pre-season and then did nothing to try and expand our brand appeal, remember that? Missed opportunity for me.

We did sign Ramadan with the ‘brand’ bit in the thinking though, and he was shite He was what 19-20 when he signed for us, coming from the Egyptian league to us it probably was a massive jump that we as a club weren't ready for. Brighton have a method where they sign them and then send them out into Europe for a season and they tend to come back in good form such as Mitoma.

Seems quite a creative player but not as much as his brother Goin Gung-Ho who's an all out attacker.
