He seems like a lovely young man, with a tremendous attitude. He'll do well.

Though things could have gone better I’m still excited re this season. We really have some exciting talent at the club for the first time in years. I just hope AN’s brave in his selections.

He needs to make many considerations about his tactics and team selection. It will take time and I honestly don't think we'll begin to see what gems we have until the end of October.

As we own him I’d like to see him get plenty of game time as one of the options at right back is way below the standard. We should be developing the players we own, not those of other clubs where we can. And this is a place we can do that.

We now have a decent seasoned right back and one of the best young right backs in the division, both who we own. There's no reason to play Hoever now.

From the Sentinel:
Junior Tchamadeu completed a busy day of dealing after summer long speculation about his future at Colchester United – and persistent reports of Stoke’s interest.
The League Two young player of the year was signed too late to be involved against Preston.
Neil said: “He broke in when he was 16. It speaks volumes in terms of his mentality and playing games. He can play right back, he can play left back.
“He's a young lad, still only 19, and all his games have been in League Two so it’s a bit of a step up but we believe he can be a really good talent.”

www.transfermarkt.co.uk/junior-tchamadeu/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/851991We'll see - but is this ability to be a real option at LB being overblown a bit? He's 19, and is making a big step-up from L2 to a team that wants to contend in the Champ. Asking him to not only make that jump but play well on his wrong side is really asking a lot He's played LB in a 4 on 3 occasions by the looks of it - and no idea how he did on those occasions. Not a lot to hang your hat on, is it? Even Gooch has done it 7 times and is more used to the level.

I've been very positive of Vidigal and big Wes but the jury is out for me on a lot of the summer business and the fact we totally neglected the CB and LB positions, to me that's totally unacceptable and is the sort of thing that could totally derail a play off push.

Fair comment. I guess i just want us to give them some backing at the start of the season and not be so pessimistic, but I do agree that it looks like we've neglected LCB and LB.

Maybe we've seen something in him that makes us believe he could be the next Griffing / Irwin.

We do need a left footed ( or better still 2 footed) CB and LB , but I expect we will see Gooch or Junior,or both at different times filling in at LB . Stevens has good experience and attitude and is a good team player, but if he finds himself being murdered for pace in one or two games, AN is going to have to sub on junior / gooch

Fair comment. I guess i just want us to give them some backing at the start of the season and not be so pessimistic, but I do agree that it looks like we've neglected LCB and LB. Agree. it will take a while before we know how the window went. Some clear positives, Travers and Vidigal for sure, Gooch, Rose, Stevens and Johnson are solid squad players if not stellar signings, and some justifiable gambles in Tchamadeu and Jojic as young players and Wesley and Sean H as potentially re-emerging top players. But unclear on what role Leris was signed for given we have signed three other RB/RWBs, concerns over Pearson and Hoover, though to be fair most people wanted them back, and unclear how good McNally is. Overall a slightly baffling imbalance between defenders and the rest - though possibly partly because we are stuck with Gayle and Baker - especially LCB and LB. To go from steady (and to be fair whatever happens, brave, as the club has gone in a completely new direction) will require Maaee, Bae, and Burger to emerge as real talents and for Vidigal to keep his start going. If some of the other gambles come off, we could really be flying, equally this is a window based on potential not achievement which means the risk is high.

even if he hasn't played that much at LB, it's surely easier for a young player at the start of his career to learn a new position for cover rather than a seasoned pro with 300 games in his preferred position

Unusual for a club to do a video after a player has left, a goodbye press release yes, but an interview like that I’ve not see before. Anyway, hope this lad is a huge success.

Flash scores has Junior playing CB on Saturday? Are we sure he’s definitely a RB. He's two footed and has played/ plays RB RWB LB and LWB for Colchester. I haven't seen him play , but I get why AN would want to sign a 19 year old two footed pacey defender, who has already played 100 games in men's football. He has been playing men's football since he was 16 , should have been found out by now , if he's no good. Where did you read that Junior was two-footed? Everything I see states that he is right-footed only.

There was a scouting report back on page 34 from 'HCFootball01' on Twitter saying "a very good deal for Stoke, his ability to play either side will help cover recent departure of Tymon" and also "a full back who can get forward and deliver with both feet is definitely a real positive"That said, I've no idea who 'HCFootball01' is or how reliable they are. I guess we'll find out.
