Not fair on the player to make him play in a friendly. He's handed in a transfer request, he has a chance of a contract which will secure his future financially, and colchester treat him like that? He should refuse to play and think of his future

"On 5 July 2021, he signed a three-year contract extension with the club"...I do know he has a year left on his contract .
So we can say to colchester ...fine , if it comes to it , he can sign a pre contract deal in january, and join us for nothing and we will give him a £1 million signing on fee , instead of giving the money to Colchester Fc
If we do this and the lad goes along with it , insisting he only wants to go to Stoke , then by the end of the August , Colchester will be falling over themselves to rush a deal through ... we can pay them less than our original offer and Junior can have a big fat signing on fee .
If he is still there , by the end of August , Colchester have painted themselves into a corner .
Very frustrating , very unfair on the lad , but the best thing all round , even for Colchester , is to seal the deal now.

He signed a contract and if Colchester aren't happy with the terms of the transfer then they can do as they wish while he's contracted to them. Same applies to any player v club scenario. |

A pre contract can't be signed with a player involving 2 English clubs |

How would we react if for instance Campbell refused to play because he wanted to go to Sheffield or Everton? Players have a contract to stick to as long as they have signed them themselves in my opinion! |
