And the ethnic balance was shocking as well. Her record as Attorney General in California..The Democrats didn't even want her. Look at her Primaries performance. Useless chief..

Funny really, 15-20 years ago they could both have gotten away with promising all sorts of initiatives to stop people using it ๐ Obviously anyone not hard of thinking won't believe a word Trump says but it's interesting that he's pretty much had this stance forced on him by public opinion ๐ Looking to me like cannabis has won regardless who gets most votes ๐

Absolutely nonsensical to deny people that use a much safer substance than alcohol these facilities - a17.asmdc.org/press-releases/20240924-bill-maher-joins-whoopi-goldberg-and-woody-harrelson-calling-governor"Lots of people want to enjoy legal cannabis in the company of others,โ said Haney, Chair of the Select Committee on Downtown Recovery. โAnd many people want to do that while sipping coffee, eating a scone, or listening to music. Thereโs absolutely no good reason from an economic, health or safety standpoint that the state should make that illegal. If an authorized cannabis retail store wants to also sell a cup of coffee and a sandwich, we should allow cities to make that possible and stop holding back these small businesses.โ There never has been any good reason to make it illegal, thankfully 70% (at least) of the American public have realised that the Emperor was actually naked the whole time ๐

After 80 odd years of preventing research they now want to do their own Nina Volkow has dramatically changed her tune these last few years, possibly since she got an absolute battering in a committee hearing If anybody knows anyone over there that can get me a work visa pm me Probably best to see if Trump gets in actually.. www.marijuanamoment.net/the-feds-are-hiring-a-contractor-to-roll-hundreds-of-thousands-of-marijuana-cigarettes-for-research/'Volkow has previously recognized that data shows rates of youth marijuana use have remained stable despite her concerns about the potential impact of legalization, evidenced by multiple federally funded surveys, for example. Volkow has maintained her stance that criminalization is not an effective approach to drug control, however. Sheโs previously said that the drug war โcreated a structurally racist systemโ in which Black people are treated โworseโ than others. And sheโs called on the government to move โaway from criminalization,โ arguing that the countryโs failure to offer drug treatment to incarcerated people only exacerbates the ongoing opioid overdose crisis.' As does denying them employment and a place to live when they're released.

Big Pharma won't like this, you can't patent a plant, which is a big part of why it's still illegal. Ethan Russo was talking about the entourage effect 20 odd years ago. www.marijuanamoment.net/lesser-known-marijuana-components-like-cbg-and-thcv-are-promising-treatments-for-parkinsons-and-alzheimers-study-shows/?โThe neuroprotective functions of these [nonโpsychotropic minor phytocannabinoids], particularly their antioxidant, antiโinflammatory, and immuneโmodulating properties, offer new avenues for research and treatment. While the pharmacological mechanisms of many NMPs remain underexplored, emerging studies suggest their potential to develop novel therapies for brain disorders. As research continues to unfold, these findings could pave the way for innovative cannabinoid plantโbased treatments that go beyond the scope of traditional approaches, offering new hope in neuroprotection and disease management.โ

At the end of the day Ely there is an ample amount of evidence to legalise Marijuana in this day and age but they (governments) just dont want to know (Im talking about British governemnts) Legalising anything is something what UK governments just do not do. Can anyone actually remember our government leaglising or allowing us more choice and freedom on any matter or subject? Because I cant. Perhaps the only one thinking about it is extending the alcohol drinking times in pubs.Ironic to say the least.

We have more and more of them. Soon in every channel!

An excellent article, bang on the money, superb ๐ www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/sep/29/britain-prehistoric-drugs-texas-decriminalisation-prisons"What can a German do but a Briton cannot? What can a New Yorker, a Chicagoan and a San Franciscan do, but a Londoner cannot? What can Canadians, Dutch, Portuguese, Chileans, Uruguayans, Maltese all do? The answer is they can legally smoke cannabis. In California there are now courses for cannabis sommeliers. In Britain they would be thrown in jail." "I donโt use illegal drugs, neither am I addicted to nicotine or alcohol or fatty foods. Having sat on two drugs-related committees, I accept that narcotic substances can, in varying degrees, cause harm to their users and, through them, to others. If after half a century of a โwarโ on drugs, banning had solved or even reduced this harm, I could see the argument for banning. It has not." "Roughly a third of adults in England and Wales aged under 60 have tried cannabis. Almost 8% use it occasionally and 2% regularly. Far fewer use hard drugs. But nearly one in five residents of English and Welsh prisons are estimated to have been jailed for a drug-related offence. Half of all homicides are drugs-related. In many prisons, more than half the inmates use drugs regularly. The authorities turn a blind eye for the sake of peace and quiet."

We have a lot of tv programs here about how the Customs and the Police work. I'm not a user of anything and it's quite interesting to see how they work.
One is called Frontier Controllers (Grรคnsbevakarna).
"My initial thought when someone comes from Pakistan or those regions, is heroine." (Customs service man)
They also discovered a paper bag with pills called Tramadol. I had no idea what it was until I searched and checked; it's some kind of pain killer. Obviously the punishment is quite high here since they said it would give five years in prison for the paper bag. But the person had left the bag there and left.
A couple of Norwegian guys had a car filled with beer and booze and were stopped. They said it's for a wedding or two. They hadn't prepared their story and the service men called it a Norwegian story (it's a sort of expression here). Anyway, if it had been in Norway the fees and punishment had been huge compared to the Swedish rules regarding alcohol, they said.
A guy and his girl were stopped and the Customs found a joint plus some extra cannabis. Not much at all so he wasn't sent to custody, but got a fee to pay. I don't know how much it is.
The service men said they do an important work and saved societal costs for the society for hundreds of millions, counting the pills alone.
Q: Do you have lots of this sort of tv programs, or is it just a typical Swedish thing to show their activity this much in almost every channel?

Q: Do you have lots of this sort of tv programs, or is it just a typical Swedish thing to show their activity this much in almost every channel? ๐ฎ๐ต๏ธ๐งโโ๏ธ We have similar programs. There's two things that are prevalent in these shows from what I can see. Any trouble, fighting, violence and general troublesome behaviour is invariably perpetrated from those under the influence of alcohol, the police spend a fair amount of time on this. The other thing they spend a fair amount of time on is stopping the trade and use of illegal drugs. The fact that the users of the illegal drugs are rarely the perpetrators of any crime other than their choice of intoxicant is seemingly one of those 'Emperor's New Clothes' scenarios that nobody questions ๐ค ๐คฆโโ๏ธ I'm confident future generations will absolutely piss themselves with laughter when they look back ๐
The Tramadol thing made me chuckle, I picked up a packet of about 60 from Boots the chemist at lunchtime, paid for by the government ๐ I have to ask for more whenever I run out, apparently they're rarely put on repeat prescription, maybe at some point they'll come up with a new treatment for the back issue I've had for 40 years but I won't be holding my breath. I did point out to the lady that served me at Boots (who'd commented on the repeat prescription thing) that within a five minute walk of their shop I could quite legitimately go and buy as much of a more dangerous product as I wanted, from 3 different establishments, with no restrictions whatsoever on how much I could consume or at what rate. She just smiled knowingly ๐ค Emperor's New Clothes again, it'd be funny if it wasn't killing people.

The first top news in Sweden this Sunday is the alarm from the Health care sector.
They've found an explosive increase in laughing gas use among young people. Especially the 20+ group. But also in selling outside schools to minors.
Lots of patients will never recover. They will suffer for life with numbness, nerve pain and some won't be able to walk again. It completely destroys the central nervous system, especially the peripheral parts of it.
A big tragedy.
*****
The other big news is the incident in a small town here a few days ago where a twenty year old prepared cookies with thc, a substance which can be found in cannabis. Nine people had to be sent to the emergency unit. I think they said just two of them are still there after a few days. They think noone will die, but people interviewed called it "the drug of death" and some even require the death penalty. However, the guilty person won't get the death penalty since our government haven't changed the constitutional laws yet, within this field, but he is likely to get punishment by jail for abuse or attempted murder, according to the law expert there.
