I’d say it just got a lot harder to achieve promotion with the 3 clubs coming down. 19 out of the 24 clubs are ex Premier league clubs also A lot of mileage to be covered also by the travelling fans

I’m not entirely sure about that Mutts. Southampton and Leeds both look to be in a right state to me.

I think Martin will do well at Southampton mate and that lad that scored a couple yesterday looked a player that will frighten Championship defenders to death. As for Leeds I suppose it depends on who they appoint as manager to see what direction they’ll be going in

Every season fans say the clubs coming down will be strong, and that getting promoted will be difficult - and whilst to a degree that is true (usually at least 1 relegated club does very well) it always takes broadly the same amount of points to win promotion or to make the play offs.
If we’re good enough, we’ll do it. If not…

They seem like a club in total disarray. I don’t get the hype with Martin, what’s he actually achieved?

There’s surely no chance the league will be as poor as it was the season just gone.
The fact we only finished 13 points off the playoffs is mindblowing to me. Our away form was very good. If we had been merely competent at home instead of largely inept then we would’ve made the top 6 with ease.
If the board had moved MON on at the end of last season then we could well be a premiership club again; not through our own competence but through being slightly less mediocre than the rest of the league. The fact a bunch of clubs with the smallest budgets did so well (including Luton/Coventry in the playoff final) speaks volumes.

if all three clubs hold on to there baulk of players they will all do well,i think they are the 3 strongest teams to come down for a good while, southamptons strike force Adams and Armstrong will get there fair share of goals Vardy and Iheanacho. spelt wrong i know, Harrison will get a few for leeds along with Bamford, much stronger league next time around

The Premier League definitely seemed like a step too far/Southampton wasn’t the right club.

Well, I guess he is but we’d need to shift Brown and/or Campbell on which would be no great shame

If we get our recruitment anything other than spot on I fear we could be in serious trouble. The division will be a right bastard next year. The promoted clubs are bang in form and in Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday are two that can pull bigger crowds than us with their eyes closed.
League One isn't that bad, is it?

Wednesday slotted in at 25s, and thety'll be another threat in terms of recruitment. Quite a lot of name power and teams with a bit of momentum. Not many tiddlers or teams in a bit of a prolonged funk . All the parachute teams will have a chance. Even Birmingham will feel a bit more optimistic with the takeover. Sunderland, Hull, and even Bristol City fans seem very upbeat. Swansea apparently may spend a bit. Only really Preston, Rotherham and possibly QPR and Cardiff look in a bit of a trough (and us, but at least we can spend a bit) Looks the most Premier League 2 it has for a while in terms of big names. m.skybet.com/football/sky-bet-championship/event/31388727Leicester 5 Leeds 11/2 Boro Southampton 10 Ipswich Norwich Watford WBA 14 Stoke Sunderland 20 Blackburn Coventry Millwall Swansea Sheff Weds 25 Hull 28 Bimingham Cardiff 33 Bristol City Plymouth QPR Preston 40 Huddersfield 50 Rotherham 80

We're building completely from scratch and even if we bring in excellent players, there is no guarantee it will gel. Character will or should be top of the list of requirements this summer for us more than any other window. We'll need a certain type of player to come in to help that gelling period be both successful and short!

Our immediate problem is there will be lots of clubs competing for same players as us - and (even though I absolutely hate the phrase) better ‘projects’ to sell to them and their agents.

You just can't make predictions until the transfer window has closed. Even then, nothing is guaranteed in this league. I’m in id take 50 points now and I’ve gut the last three seasons within 5 points or better . I actually can’t see three worse teams , 3 teams in more disarray , 3 teams with less momentum , 3 y teams with worse form records over the last 10 games , three teams with worse managers , 3 teams with less money of course ! but we’ve proved on a regular basis ineptitude and incompetence trump money every day as Luton , Brentford etc etc proved organisation , desire and good management trumps it too . The idea Neil will suddenly do a Kompany or even a edwards .and buy and find a winning team is grounded in hope and desire but not his record here or anywhere else , the idea Martin cam find fit players to transform us equally hope overcoming record . id take 50 and think 50 to 55 is our range at best
