Thought Luton players were very gracious in victory there. Noticed their striker Morris went straight over to the Cov player who missed the pen before going off & celebrating himself.
Honestly think most of the Luton players are in disbelief still as to what they've just achieved. Aside from Doughty, & Nakamba on loan from Villa, I hadn't really heard of any of their squad. Luton have no big names or ego's, they've just got on and got the job done.
Big hearts & determination has shown it can be enough to win promotion out of the Championship, it isn't just something you can splash the cash at and leave it at that. Same could be said had Coventry won this final today. Stoke management & owners take note.

These are both shit. Shows how bad we are. People keep saying this. It just isn’t the case. In this league it is all relative, and clearly, unequivocally they’ve been good enough to be in the game today. It can’t be denied as much as people try to do so No they were the least shit in a very shit league. Did you watch the game? Quality was poor. Also watched them both at home vs us, quality was poor. We’re just way worse.

Fair play to Jared Roberts-Smith, head of sports science at Luton who followed Nathan Jones to Stoke. I remember hearing at the time that the players really liked him and his sessions while he was with us..

Luton have shown that you can get promoted on a small budget, good work rate and with a more aggressive style.
I’d have been happy for either of these two to have made it up. It will be fun to see another small ground in the “best league in the World”.

Sincere congratulations to Luton on being promoted. Sincere congratulations to Coventry on reaching the play off final at Wembley. Both have had absolutely horrendous times over the last decade.
Now the reality.
1. Even with the automatically promoted teams the EFL this season has been nothing more than just above average, average and poor
2. Its a complete embarrassment for all present and past employees of SCFC over the eight years or so, let that sink in.

None of that means they’re not shit. We’re all shit then I think that’s the point, yes. The Championship is such a boring, talentless league to watch.

This was a final was a reflection of how bad this division is. It makes weep how far we have fallen.

How many of our ex-players are now playing in the Premiership? None. The Premiership is Scottish😉

Really impressed by the panel today especially Goodman and Macanuff. Proper football men with excellent knowledge and no cliches.

Whilst I agree it's great for the winning team It's just so wrong that a team can finish on 20-30 points more than 6th place and still not be promoted, the playoffs need fecking off and reverting to a straight 3 up 3 down...but that won't happen because money talks.

I disagree. Everyone knows the rules at the start of the season and if you get rid off the playoffs then you have an awful lot of meaningless matches at the end of the season.

Everyone knows the rules at the start of the season. I hate it when people state this as a defence. Yes, we know the rules but let’s face it, there isn’t an alternative. It’s not like teams can say “Fuck this league with its playoff rules, I’m going to play in the three up, three down league”. I’m not saying bin the playoffs, but there needs to be some fairness applied where there is such a huge points gap between 3rd and 6th place. Some kind of weighting system perhaps?

Just cut it down to two relegations from the top then. Saves the hassle of the play offs - best two go up. Better yet, just one up and one down…

Gutted for coventry. Have a lot of good friends from that part of the world, some of which were at today's game.
Happy for Luton too though. And it's sort of hilarious that Nathan Jones left them twice, once for premiership, and now they're there without him.
If he had as much confidence in his methodology as he portrays then he wouldnt have left and aimed for promotion. Bet he feels a bit of a prat now. Actually feel sorry for him a bit.
