I live in Leicester and have done for almost a decade.
I can’t help but be sad for the club. I’ve even ventured onto their forum to say so.
I know I’ll get hate for it from both sides so flame away.
They are not a bad club and their fans are mostly decent. It’s also, as we well know, not good for the city.
Some of the club’s mistakes are not dissimilar to what did for us.
I’d also have liked Everton to go down, long overdue.
My flame suit is on!

Personally I think it did. But, I never presume to know more about other clubs than their actual fans. They seem to think the club management has been poor for longer. Sounds familiar, actually.

But, I never presume to know more about other clubs than their actual fans. They seem to think the club management has been poor for longer. Sounds familiar, actually. If I had to suggest a 'cause' it'd be something as simple as the club having had a 'golden' few years before reverting back into the pack of 14 or so clubs who are always potential relegation candidates. I said the same in July 2020, that they'd soon be joining the rest of those clubs fighting to avoid being one of the three to go down, and here they eventually are. Southampton exactly the same after looking like solid Premier League members for some time. Stoke just the same when it was our turn. Ten years or so of stability and, in Leicester's case, extraordinary success, then back amongst the failures. Crystal Palace will be next. Without the funding that Newcastle currently have, it's simply not possible to avoid being one of those relegatable sides, even if you have a period of success in the meantime. That was always the frustrating thing about our own decade in the top flight, nothing to show for it when we eventually, inevitably came back down.

Bournemouth the hearing aid of football couldn’t get a draw to send those fuckers down, toss this is the game I picked to watch. In fairness, Bournemouth were competitive, only a worldy prevented them getting a point and sending those lucky lucky bastards down. How many times can a team flirt with relegation without dropping. Next season is massive for Everton, Saints and Leeds have hovered for 2 or 3 seasons and finally dropped.........

I am enjoying the chaos at Wolves. Serious noise about the Manager, owners and funds. As you pointed out the relegation from the prem could be any three from 14. Fingers crossed!

That was always the frustrating thing about our own decade in the top flight, nothing to show for it when we eventually, inevitably came back down. I think this is very true. Going back a bit further I remember Bolton doing about a decade before collapsing quite badly. The only think I’d say regarding ourselves is that I don’t consider we had nothing to show for it. We didn’t win any trophies but I’ll never forget that period in the sunshine and how good it felt overall, some of the “adventures”, many of the games, just the whole ambience of it. A real golden period in our history and one I will always be grateful for. So plenty to show for it in my eyes.

As others have said, there are 14 clubs in the relegation mix for next season. Unfortunately and very sadly, there are at least three considerably worse than Bournemouth.
