I think there's a cheaper version, that's the "match worn" one which basically means you can spend £80 on the cheap and nasty version instead......... What's the difference between normal and match worn? Are they charging £80 for a top that's not even the same as the kit they wear on the pitch 🤔 See attached. It's basically a scam...... Match worn v Stadium shirts

Match worn v Stadium shirts“The Match jerseys are more expensive than their Stadium counterparts, but for a fan who is interested in getting the same experience that his favorite players are getting these shirts are the real thing.” Some fat bloke who has just sunk 6 pints of bitter and a pie really isn’t getting the same shirt-wearing experience as a pro athlete 😂

That's just insanity. I could go on DHGate and get that for about £10. Well, no, you could go on DHGate and get a cheap copy for that much. You’re not getting a £100 shirt for £10, you’re getting a £10 shirt for £10. Well yeah, that's what I mean. I've bought plenty of cheap copies over the years on there to know that. The copies are just as good and so I see no reason to spend £100 on the genuine player version of a shirt, or a fan version.

Shouldn’t be allowed to charge so much, it’s not very fair on families whose kids might want home/away and there’s two or three kids. It’s exploitation really. <best Game Show Voice> Thaaaaaat's Capitalism!!!<best parental advice voice> teach your kids about the cost of things. Yea it just doesn’t sit well with me. If the kids kits were £25-30 that would be fairer.

Let’s face it, the genuine shirt is still just as cheap to produce as the copy.

Never too arsed with new kits, but does seem like this is the longest time after a season end to announce the new ones?

For some reason everyone thinks the kits are always released and available before the end of the current season, and the last home game they are used but this rarely happens these days. From memory I think the last time Stoke did this was 2015/16 with New Balance

I don't get the business sense of having an empty club shop for this long.
They've done well to sell all of the old stock, but surely you'd want the new stuff in as soon as possible afterwards.

Is the club shop at the ground temporarily shut yet? One of the staff in the potteries centre store said it was having a minor refurbishment.
I asked about the new upcoming shirt, she said around June time but didn’t know anything re design etc. But stated that macron have been far better than Adidas & New Balance for restocking shirts over the course of the season

I appreciate I am in a minority of 1 here but I'd like to see Adidas back.
The shirts may be a little generic by their nature but least with Adidas there is some discernible evidence of the age old art of tailoring.
The festering old tat we have had from the budget suppliers in recent years has all the quality of a £3.99 6-pack of girls knickers from Primark.

I think Adidas did some good quality training gear but the actual shirts always felt off the peg and not personal to Stoke, I mean look at the 150th anniversary shirt and the stick on badges, just awful.
Having bought some of England’s stuff over the last few years I’ve been quite impressed with Nike, good tailoring and excellent quality maybe we should try them next?

Have any clubs released new kits yet? It seems that announcing them at the end of the "current" season in anticipation for the next has ended for ALL clubs, not just Stoke. Do you think it's a financial/marketing decision or just slower labour? I follow Newport on Twitter as we had a player on loan there and I’m sure they did.

The quality of the Macron gear, particularly the training gear has been excellent. My eldest lad lives in his and they all look as good as new…….

Adidas and Nike both have generic (/classic) ranges and then bespoke designs which cost a shit tonne more, even for top level profressional clubs. Macron have just done the most successful bespoke designs for us in donkeys years.

Still annoys me that if Macron had been our supplier back in 2012/13 they'd have come up with a 150th anniversary kit that would have done us proud. Adidas rather lazily gave us a vertically striped template kit that had the right colours for the "Ramblers era" kit, but could have been so much better. Especially when they had this, that would have just needed some tweaks : Correct colours - check. Horizontal stripes - check. Retro collar - check.

Macron is the best kit supplier we’ve had in years, if not ever. This season’s kits are superb, and I wouldn’t say they’ve made a bad one (the green one being a bit meh but not awful). Give me Macron’s stuff over any identikit crap any day.

Can't really fault Macron's quality of shirt. Choose the appropriate European size and you're good to go. They hold together well and wash extremely well.
Granted I wasn't a huge fan on their initial 2 or so designs on away shirts but I think after those, starting with the purple away from 18/19, they've done a brilliant job with the designs.
