Some interesting comments 🤔 Are you sure those comments (cold, no atmosphere, in the middle of nowhere) aren't from home fans?

I heard the Millwall fans enjoyed a few hours in the Trentham Monkey Park before the match.
Don’t know why they were attracted to it but each to there own . 🤔

I mean, it’s absolute fucking shit right? It’s a cheap Meccano stadium built on an out of town slag heap turned industrial park.
If the family announced tomorrow that they were drawing up plans for a new ground in a more central location I could die happy.
Slightly less unrealistically, rebuild it stand by stand. The north stand especially could be redeveloped into something beautiful with amazing facilities for the supporters.

Trying to think what my favourite away day as a Stoke fan would be.
Recent results especially, I'd probably go for Villa. Decent 'proper' stadium, good views, usually a good attendance from both sets of fans, half decent atmosphere most times I've been there, little mither but some good 'interaction' with the locals, good enough pubs nearby, they're nowhere near as orcish as their rivals in Small Heath...yeah, I'll go for that.

The middle of nowhere is the most common comment which is fair enough.

It should have been built in Hanley, and built properly

If it was re built up hanley and the arena built it would bring the city centre back to life. Council are already drawing up plans for a tram system so it would be a brilliant location.

Yeh things could be improved, as 90% of grounds in this country could if you listen to home fans, and by the sounds of it they are in the process of. Why would the club, police etc want to build a ground for over 30 thousand people in the middle of Hanley or somewhere? Can you imagine everyone tearing though the streets, putting house and shop windows through, standing on cars in side streets, like the video I watched again of stoke fans coming out of vale's ground the other season. Our ground on the Tele always looks good for me. Nice tidy ground. Shame about the other corners but hopefully one day we grow enough to increase it again. I can understand the more pubs etc, but if they improve the experience at the ground in the coming season then all good for me. I remember the days at the old ground, marching thousands of away fans from stoke station to the Vic, shopping trolleys and all sorts landing on cars and probably a nightmare for those houses in the surrounding area.

The ‘experience’ is exactly what you want, thick red smoke everywhere so the football, funnily enough what you suggest you go for, can’t be seen.

The burger van outside the Tile Mountain Stand (Boothen End Side) is one of the best outside caterers I've experienced at a footy match or anywhere else to be fair, as the Norwich fan on that article alluded to. Aside from the food being excellent they have every condiment & sauce you could possibly wish for. They also have bowls of fresh lettuce & Sliced Tomato to pop on your burgers, even gherkins! Nice touch and just something that goes above and beyond the usual catering van fodder. I'll always go out and queue at half time to get the kids something from that van than queue for what they serve up in the ground.

The north stand especially could be redeveloped into something beautiful with amazing facilities for the supporters. Totally agree. A stadium with character is essential to the soul of the club. It should have been built in Hanley, and built properly Hanley is too north for me. Maybe just south of the city centre is palatable. But Hanley feels less definitively stoke city than Fenton / stoke / longton. Even parts of southern Newcastle feel more stoke city areas than Hanley to me. But that’s pie in the sky talk. I would cry with happiness if they announced it (even if they announced they were merely exploring options) it’s a dream of mine but it’ll never happen will it. Inflation adjusted our ground only cost around £26m and, even with improvements over the years, it feels cheap because it is cheap. Rebuilding the north stand with top class facilities for the fans, standing areas and an iconic facade would go a long way to giving our ground a unique feel and separating it from the handful of similar identikit stadiums. Truth be told there isn’t a great deal currently to differentiate it from a handful of similar sized stadiums built at the time. In fact I think pride park/riverside/Leicester’s and ours were all built using roughly the same blueprint with minor differences. It hurts my soul. Maybe we could also move the changing rooms to the current TV corner and then rebuild the tv facilities at the current tunnel corner while we’re at it. And then away teams will have to come out by the "boothen end". (which isn't worthy of that name but could be if we rebuilt it) I wish I was an architect or an artist because I'd like to knock up a rough blueprint for what I'm imagining.

Some of our fans criticise our stadium for some reason
I can only think of the getting away from our ground that bothers me but going to hillsbrough yesterday really highlighted that there’s nothing wrong with our ground. Was in the lower tier yesterday and it was the pits. A small kiosk selling only carlsberg and a pie The cue for that was a mile long. There’s nothing wrong with our ground

I went that Sandwich shop next to the retro Man United shop (the other odd shirt was there). It wasn’t the best but there wasn’t hardly any choice.
