I really don’t get why working hard trumps a lack of footballing talent. I'd say the same thing about Jon Walters. He eventually became one of our best finishers and it wasn't by talent alone. It was 'aard work. Jon Walters was a good footballer.

We basically need someone with his willingness to run .. with 99% better touch, hold-up play and control.

Hoever and Brown gave arguably the most in form left sided players in the division in Giles and Ramsey a really difficult game.
I don’t get how anyone could complain about Brown’s performance tonight apart from his missed header…….

You do realise that with the current personnel we have playing the system we’re currently playing we simply have to play Brown. If we had two Jacob Brown’s we’d offer far less of a goal threat, and if we had two Tyrese Campbell’s we wouldn’t be able to press teams as successfully as we have done of late. If you could merge their skills you’d have a £20m player on your hands. Who are you bringing in for Brown then?

People forget it's a team game and Brown contributes massively to the way this team is now playing...he is limited but we miss him when he isn't there and he stays for me until we get someone who can do his job better

We've just taken 7 out of 8 points from 3 sides above us in this league and you still can't help yourself but be miserable can you? Those 7 points were earned by the TEAM not any one individual and I'm sure, if you asked them, the players in that team would give credit to the likes of Jacob Brown for his contribution, not just in the last 3 games, but also in all the other games this season, when the likes of Laurent, Smallbone and Campbell were all struggling for form. I bet Christmas in your house is a real hoot

We’ve played well and Gayle and Brown have both stood out like sore thumbs as the weak links. It’s been great! We get the result and it’s still highlighted and will then hopefully be rectified when we can. Ideal.

Now that we have a bit of quality in the side I think that Brown stands out like a sore thumb. Seeming he was our top scorer last season really shows how poor we’ve been. As I’ve said before, I can’t fault his effort & commitment but he’s simply not good enough. Hoever caused all of the problems down that wing tonight & his heat map proved it. I was watching brown closely & every time he received the ball he passed it back, There was once which he cut inside & actually made a decent attacking move.

And his pressing leading to us picking the ball back high up the pitch? No one seems to want to answer the question but in that system when we press from the front who plays on the right instead of Brown?

Sadly I have to agree, his energy and pressing means that he is the best we have right now in that position. If we have serious ambition for next season, we need to upgrade Gayle first and then Brown. I am fine with Brown being a squad player.

I’d play Hoever there too if he wants to keep Campbell on the left. But injuries and not signing the attackers we needed to in Jan limit what we can do now. Next season I want the right hand side to be Sterling and Campbell. We need a new left hand side.

Having Brown in the team offsets that. Hoever is an attacking full back who's threat comes from a deeper position, pushing him up the pitch would be madness........

You don’t need to do it for 90. I agree but he could do what Brown does now and do more with the ball. It’d be a vast improvement.

And that’s been great to see whilst winning. Plenty of others saw it too. We’re slowly getting there!!

I think brown could be a conundrum for the manger next season he referred to him tonight as moving in to leave space for howver and often mentions the lack of wide players biut ones with his work rate are rare Can see a whelan coming on where we think we can upgrade and he keeps proving peope wrong on the right of a front three Said before he's the Cresswell of this group

He had plenty of poor to average seasons. Just because managers couldn’t sign a defensive midfielder doesn’t mean he was irreplaceable. It just means the managers were a bit shit. We already have a better player on the right anyway.
