Its obvious to everyone that he is technically very limited, he runs and closes down and pops up with the odd goal, but that’s your lot. Poor touch, can’t dribble, and loses the ball on far to many occasions, breaks our attacking threat down due to being unable to get the ball out of his feet or pass it off.
All that may seem harsh, but he gives it 100% for every second he is on the pitch and runs himself into the ground, he may see his minutes very limited next season but he has worked his bollo# off for the last few seasons when we have been awful. I give him all the credit in the world for making the most of what ability he does have.

He's the Cresswell of next years promotion squad ups and downs with supporters but loved by teammates and manger invaluable at this level “next years promotion squad”….that’s optimistic for you isn’t it? We’ll be no where ear top 6 with him as a regular. Said that two seasons ago. It’s painful to watch him regardless of his relentless press and energy. By the way he’s not quick neither.

I like brown and his 100% he brings to every game.. sometimes it doesn't go his way and he looks a mid table championship player at best.....but in many ways he reminds me of Richard Cresswell a player we always thought " surely we can get better and what does he bring" but he, like Brown is an Effective and honest player in our system and for all his shortcomings helps create an effective front 3 all working hard and working together as a unit..

Improved game on game last year, but does seem to have leveled out a bit this year. Works his nads off and I think he does better than given credit for, especially when you see him live - you can see just how important he is to the team
Got goals in him too, I think he is the only player we have had for a while that has gotten into double figures during a season.
I think he could improve by bulking up a little and learning how to guard and hold the ball up a little better than he does, that might even get him into better goal-scoring positions if he could roll off the shoulder of his opponents a bit more.
Never going to be a Beckham when it comes to passing, but he is still very young and has areas he can improve in and can be a useful player for us.
There are players in our team, though, that we need to have a serious look at and decide whether we need to add a bit more quality if we are going to move into the top half and trouble the play-off spots

I didn’t say we’d get there just tests what we are attempting to build but I’ll acknowledge it’s looking better now in pretty rapid order

Brown like Campbell and like Gayle whether in a two or a three would be much better alongside a battering ram cantre forward we somehow need to get one who also scores goals and still has some pace That's not going to be an easy signing

Think he will have an important role tonight in stopping Ryan Giles getting forward. From what I have seen of Boro, a lot of goals come from his crosses. Not sure if he is as good defensively, so might be worth Tyrese having a go against him?.

The only other option in the 433 is Tymon wide left.
With how good our press has been lately and how well connected our forwards are off the ball, I'd be surprised if he changes anything unless there's an injury or something.

Tymon is as weak as piss and is next to useless going backwards, he excels when he is high up the pitch and can deliver a fantastic cross, sometimes.

I despair regarding the negativity toward Brown, he works his 'trossachs' off for the team and was even top-scorer last season, maybe even possibly this season, but is lambasted on the board for lack of quality.🤦♂️

He's out of position and still playing well.

Good points. I missed most of Brighton game. TBF under MON we'd line up 5-3-2 and sometimes switch to 4-3-3 when passing out. I noticed it during the 2-2 v Barnsley in MON's purple patch because I actually made it to the match. I'd still pick brown over tymon in a front 3, think Josh looked ineffective there when I've watched. Brown's more of a shooting threat so defenders have to worry about that.

His strengths are in how good he is at finding space in the box when we have the ball and pressing defences.

He genuinely struggles to control the ball about 40% of the time. Out of position? He’s best on the right.

I'd say the same thing about Jon Walters. He eventually became one of our best finishers and it wasn't by talent alone. It was 'aard work.
