Well Neil will have had 41 games in the league and a transfer window so he needs to shoulder some of the responsibility. I will also judge him next season and still fell he will improve us, but against no FFP sanctions he absolutely should be improving us no ifs, no buts......... With a crap squad having to get rid of the loans MON brought in, lumbered with a highly payed end of carrer striker up front that no one else wants, the good thing with having the amount of games he's had is that he has no excuses when it comes to knowing who to get rid of. I think he easily improves us next season tbh, he's already managed to do it a little bit and shown he knows where the problems are. I think to say he's improved us so far is a stretch, albeit we had a very good purple patch. Celina is the very definition of a "crap loan signing" so let's hope that the whole team, manager and DOF included bring the right players in going forward. And he may be lumbered with an end of career striker but he could of course have brought in a target man in January instead of perennial crock Tuanzabe or Celina..........

Very damning reflection on January’s business but absolutely fair , do we really want the same people running our last pot of gold it’s very concerning .

The hit miss strike rate from January's window will be incredibly difficult to replicate. With the exception of Celina every single January signing has improved the team when they have played. If you really think people can be found who will do better in the transfer market you're fucking mental.

The goalkeeper and centre back barely played Celina hasn’t played at all even when he’s been on the pitch so three of the jan signings have made no impact not sure how that’s unqualified success I agree the keeper and axel are good players but if they re regularly injured it’s not much use in the championship

Right now after the Wigan disgrace my feeling is that Neil has not improved us at-all. It's still the same rubbish results, with a few highlights dotted along the way. Admittedly he's only had a hurried winter transfer window, but let's face it if this was Watford, he'd be gone - especially after Tuesday. We're not Watford though and we can only hope he has a master plan to get us playing much much better on a far more consistent basis. You can't have a great "blip" in the NE/Coventry and then fail to win anything subsequently to that at home to be going anywhere in this league. We're looking at possibly 12+ departures come June and so things will absolutely look 100% different come August.

This demonstrates the people involved in bringing them to the club know the type of player that can make their philosophies work. The keeper and Tuanzebe have definitely had some impact just not as much as any of us would have liked. Pearson has bought a structure to the midfield and the signing that was greeted by the least enthusiasm has proved a star in terms of both output and entertainment he's a joy to watch(Hoever).

Since the turn of the year we've hit 3 vs Stevenage, 4 vs Reading, 3 vs Harlepool, 3 vs Swansea, 3 vs Huddersfield, 3 vs Blackburn, 5 vs Sunderland, 4 vs Coventry. After 2 whole seasons of us hitting 3 or more goals being a once a year event whatever the opposition. Not improved, a blip! Ahh is everything not perfect in your garden. I was as disgusted by Tuesdays game as anyone but you ain't half spouting some shit.

Our luck with injuries has been atrocious. Gayle to play for the rest of the season I guess.

He's not fabulous with the ball at his feet, Jacob, but he has the right idea , so I quite like him .
To borrow one of AN's favourite phrases , Jacob's plan is to run around a lot , hopefully lose his man at some point, then ' land on it ' when the ball comes into the danger zone, and score.
It's not a bad plan .
It would helpful he could do more winning the ball and less conceding free kicks when he's running around.
And it would be lovely if his finishing were better when he landed on it .
But it's not a bad plan.

Seems like the sort of bloke who'd have a cunning plan. Baldrick never carried any of his out either. Not sure why AN continues to call him over and feed him tactical information, can't he see he'd have more joy trying to knock a nail in a brick.

Glad he's not in that squad, to be fair. Hopefully 100% for the 1st game of the season.
Awaits post from BO saying how crap he is anyway

Top scorer season before last, he’s not crap. Getting in Delap to bench him was ludicrous.

Top scorer season before last, he’s not crap. Getting in Delap to bench him was ludicrous. I just don’t like watching him. Can’t take a man on, little skill level etc. I’m bored of all our forwards and want to see something new. Sadly Gayle will be here next season, the other two we could sell.
