He co-created The Muppets. Erm. No. He founded, as an educator The Children’s Television Workshop, more widely recognized as Sesame Street. The Muppets were created by Jim Henson (UMd) out of a program called Sam and Friends (1955) The Muppets did, of course, go on to appear on SS from 1969, which is what confuses a lot of folk.

I am easily confused. I just saw that he’d gone over via a headline which said what I then quoted because I couldn’t be arsed to read the article in full. And I’d no idea who he was.

One interesting fact.
The another great creative behind the Muppets, along side Jim Henson was Frank Oz (Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal, Sam the Eagle)
Bert and Earnie are actually 100%based on Jim and Frank and their relationship.
