Nobody wins transfer bingo Is he any good ?? Only a 66.3% save rate last season. Doesn’t say much for quality in the Turkish league, but that’s a very average return - the 20th best of all keepers in the Turkish league (even though his team finished 6th). Doesn’t sound like any upgrade on what we have and It’ll be a huge let down if we go for this guy when proven keepers like Iversen or Bentley are available. |

From 2021 Ersin Destanoğlu's performance in long shots is poor. Since the beginning of last season, 9 of the 132 shots to his goal from outside the penalty area were scored. The 6.8% goal conceding rate is the worst in the league. (*) He also conceded about 3 goals more than xG. It does seem an unlikely link, to say the least. Tempting to dismiss it given the Turkish media reputation for utter bollocks and Neil's conservatism. Just can't see him chucking a young Turk who's never played outside Istanbul into a relegation fight.
