Positively shitting it now that we don't replace Souttar properly. Would be typical us to lose 3 centre backs in a week and not get someone in. Its usually the losing of goalkeepers almost simultaneousy that's the problem! |

The problem with players who have two or three Championship clubs to choose from, if the wage offers are similar they will take one look at the table and pick the one chasing the play offs. I hope we get Cook but he’s got a choice between 5th, 7th or 18th.

So it seems Harry is certainly off, and we are after a centre back and a striker, but there are no concrete names from anyone yet. None of my "sauces" will commit to any names at all.

Anyway one look at the guys twitter who posted it shows it's all horseshit anyway  Oh, absolutely mate. I only believe it when General Faye says it's true. We’re leaving it a bit late to get two or three in aren’t we? No mention of any potential signings yet on social media 🤷♂️ Are we, you can do more than one at a time, we could also just be waiting on Souttar being 100% finished to give the green light, plenty of time yet. I think that as it is Nige's last season we are giving him the courtesy of vetting potential signings to make sure that he can pronounce the names, so that he doesn't have such a hard time in his final weeks! |

I really don’t understand people hating on the Cook signing, played lots of games in the Championship and a few in the Prem. Can anyone enlighten me??
I see many Blackburn fans would be happy with him if they get him. So why are so many against it?

Because our ethos of signing aging centre halves - or players in general, with no resale value has been an absolute disaster since we come down. |

My only thoughts are that he will be 32 in April (I think), if we could get him on a contract for no more than 18 months fine. I’m really hoping to see significant progressive signings in the summer after the final clear out, any signings today must surely be a balance between securing Championship safety and progressing from next summer |

English early thirties who passes the checks because - as you say - he's 'played lots of games in the Championship'. File under every under failed CB signing since relegation. Slots nicely in between Ashley Williams and Danny Batth in the steady eddie leagues. Would be an awful back 3 mind. Selling Harry Souttar is a fine example - along with Nathan Collins and I'm sure many after him, Emre Tezgel & Nathan Lowe - of a successful academy. Replacing Souttar with Steve Cook is a fine example of why we are where we are. |
