To go unbeaten in March with 2 of them containing a 5-1 and 4-0 away from home, let’s hope he gets it👍 Cov was unfortunately 1st April. I think Carrick will get it, 3 wins and a draw, 13 goals scored. Ours was the joint 2nd best record mind.

When his previous was at Cork, Waterford and Dundalk, that’s not exactly shocking 😂 That said, I’ve warmed to AN more in the last couple of months. There’s everyone at Preston since, everyone he’s worked with in the Ireland set up, whoever he worked with at West Ham plus Mark Robins as well… Doesn't quite fit his narrative by mentioning all of those does it though mate.

Don't post too often, but I'm absolutely thrilled at the moment!! For the first time since relegation, I don't dread the BBC Sport score updates, or knocking the radio on, or going to the match. The fitness improvements have been tremendous, the performances have equalled any team I've seen in the championship for about 5 years - including Leeds under Bielsa. It's poles apart from Rowett for forward play, far more organised than Jones, and I feel far more confident than under O'Neill. I think MO'N did a great job until the beginning of this season but after a rough start Neil has been a much needed breath of fresh air - a tactically astute manager for heaven's sake!! I've been a Neil advocate since the start, but then I was for MO'N too, and Jones dare I say it (what do I know!?) Just truly thrilled to see a Stoke side batter a team from start to finish. It'd become quite novel! I now get the feeling if we go 1 or 2 nil up that we will end up scoring 4 or 5 - remember the days when scoring more than 2 was a rarity!? What a difference, cheers Alex!! and I was thrilled to read your post. Please write more. Your comparison of Stoke's recent performances with Leeds under Bielsa was magic. I just hope now Neil gets the success he deserves.

He never featured for West Ham, so the vast majority of his experience there would have been with a reserve coach. Ireland have been awful for at least a decade. Mar Robins does look like a manager on this rise. So to be one of the best tactically should be a given.

Yeah, it almost seems like AN was a good manager for Preston and everyone who’s been there since hasn’t been as good? We don’t know who he worked with at West Ham and Premier League u23 coaches can still be very good tactically anyway, as can whoever he’s worked with at international level. Think AN clearly is pretty good tactically regardless, that was his reputation before he arrived here.

I acknowledged that I was coming around to AN, I just question the standard of the measuring stick this player has used to judge him by. Given that the goal next season is promotion, I’d take this statement with more weight if this player had been at more successful clubs. Even then, it’s just one player’s accounting of a manager who played a style that suited this player most. AN’s current system reveals more to me about his tactical awareness than the words of a player who was given his first major chance by the person he’s discussing. I am almost excited about next season, which is a huge turnaround from where I was 3 months ago, so credit to AN for that.

I think the player’s view is interesting and would be if it was positive or negative - coaches at all levels can have good ideas. It was a detailed and articulate look at Maguire’s time at Preston and AN’s role there.

Apologies if this has been posted already - discusses his Stoke spell from about 39 minutes on. Didn’t want to come to Stoke in 2019 as he didn’t want to mop up the mess and then get no recognition for it. Sums him up really. Should have been a red flag that he wasn’t up for it at our lowest ebb but MON was up for it.

Wow, what an interview that is. Certainly reveals a whole load about his character, and inversely reveals more about our owners.
Pretty much admitted he came for the coin and an easy ride.

Me too mate, put out a hell of a lot of fires🔴⚪️ Me too did a hell of a lot of sorting out on and off the pitch and has been our best manager in the last 6-7 season fact! PS AN admitted that the first time we approached him he wasn't up to the job and MON came in and did what he knew he couldn't and ironically it was Michael's work that gave AN the platform to push us on massively but sadly he failed.

JC is not the only one to get things wrong. Perhaps TA is suffering from a lack of confidence in his judgement. I'll never know if that is the case, as I already had him blocked.
