Not much to say other than maybe we would be better off getting relegating and rebuilding.
I hate this league it's utter shit. Being top 6 division 1 handing out a few beatings woukd be much better than this. Maybe we could build some confidence and then finally do something.
To be honest it's got to the point I can barely be arsed to go anymore. I literally don't like any of em apart from maybe Tymon the last of the Hughes players.
Honestly I'd get Pulis in

No.
That's what we were supposed to be doing for the past 4 or so years.
Every managerial appointment has put us further away from that fix to the point that we now need the kind of surgery we needed to get back up to the prem, but to be competitive in the champ.
Every single one of them is a disgrace...

It might if you had confidence in the board selecting the right manager and the right players being recruited. It just means our better players would be sold for peanuts and the board would continue scrabbling around for some accidental formula to get promotion. At least in the championship we are more attractive to other players so it’s a no from me for relegation as I think we could be there for at least as long as we’ve done this current stint in the championship.

No on both counts, relegation would absolutely destroy this club, as for pulis an absolute dinosaur now although knowing how stokes boardroom works he'll be a shoe in for next manager.

This thread needs shit binning in record time, because it's one of the daftest things I've seen on here.
And I said we should give James Alabi a go up front in 2013 for fucks sake.

I feel like we are closer to relegation than promotion. Wouldn’t want relegation but would it galvanise our fan base again? At the moment we are a nowhere club with a nowhere team and a nowhere fan base

It’s The first week of November, we have a new manager who has inherited someone else’s shitshow. The sooner the WC break comes the better. Rethink, regroup and look to January to make some changes where we can.

I feel like we really need to chill the fuck out, give this new bloke a season and full transfer window and see what he has to bring.

Just a bunch of nothing misfits now, we had the mercenaries, now we are left with misfits. The pattern of play is grim and we just look like we will make a mistake at any minute.

We've been served up bollocks for the majority of the past 5 years, surely being even shitter is the one thing we don't want to do!

Relegation puts you back 2 to 3 years. Sheff Weds fans may have asked the same question. Neil doing a good job of helping us find out though

If we were relegated our ambition would be to get back where we are now ! Promotion is difficult no matter what league you are in so for me the answer is absolutely no !!

This may be a shit league, but if we go down, we have to play in this league again if we came back up.

No. We said this after relegation from the Premier League and it didn't work out.
If by some miracle we came back at the first attempt and won the league, then yes. But history says that very few similar sized clubs to us come back at the first attempt in the last 15 years or so. The last one was Wolves around a decade ago. Most get stuck down for a few years like Sheffield Wednesday and United, Sunderland, Ipswich etc etc etc.

No because the coates family always try to gives us a mid table team to watch. In which ever league we are in. We have no ambition.

No, but it worked for Southampton a few years ago, this is Stoke though and we would get stuck in league 1.

I remember in the last relegation year, there were plenty of people who were blasé’ about our impending doom. They viewed a short stint in the championship as some sort of refresh. Get relegated then tear up the championship peasants for a year or two and come back to the premiership with renewed vigour. Like a nice holiday.
I’m not so sure if you had showed a crystal ball to those people, and after 4 seasons (and counting) we would’ve come far closer to another relegation than even a playoff push, 0 top half finishes, 3 managerial sackings (2 of which were disasters and the most recent appointment flirting with the possibility of joining that list) and the sound of away supporters celebrating at FT becoming an expected bi-weekly event, then no way would they have been quite so relaxed.

If we got relegated, we'd get a grovelling apology on the official website, a promise of an overhaul, more promises of free bus rides and then we'd proceed to appoint the League One version of Gary Rowett (Kenny Jackett?) and then watch in horror as he spends the largest budget in League One and defends our way to 12th in the league.
Still, who needs other owners when you have prime, local 'gold' like that, that love the club?
