That CM will get destroyed. Smallbone is the least physical player i’ve ever seen. He’ll get bullied. Is Laurent injured again already? Dunno about that but he certainly rivals Sawyers. Nothing to read into this we knew MON gave no thought to physicality in midfield. AN is just picking who’s fit from very poor options. At least he’s not going backs to the wall.

So who's injured now?
Tymon Souttar Powell Brown Clucas Thompson Laurent Kilkenny
Delap says Kilkenny is "half way back" . Given he's been out for 5 weeks, doesn't sound great

How does wright-phillips not get a game ahead of Smallbone? Even smaller and weaker?

It’s another flat out mental midfield on paper. Don’t see how anyone could watch our midfield on Sunday and think ‘needs more Smallbone’. Who else though Rob? I’d honestly have tried Wilmot there I think mate.

The fuck is that midfield. Gonna get massively overrun. Reading the teamsheet I thought he’d chucked Wilmot in midfield. But that’s just weak as piss.

What has happend to Kilkenny? Haven't heard about him for ages? Currently has a big brace on his knee and is hobbling about. You won’t see him this side of the World Cup (if ever)

How does wright-phillips not get a game ahead of Smallbone? Even smaller and weaker? Last time I saw him albeit for a short spell he was charging about winning the ball. Looked stronger and would be a lot more busy in midfield

All we can hope for is the wrong attitude from Burnley, a referee who loves Stoke, outrageous luck, 5 injuries to their team during the game and our players deciding to get stuck in. Put all those things together and we might nick a point.

In a desperate effort to get the players up to full fitness, they’ve all got injured.

All we need now us for Baker to " pick up a knock " which is 10 weeks out seemingly then we really are well and truly royally fucked.

At least he's willing to switch up. Like the bench, hopefully some of the young players get some minutes.
Will judge it when I see it on the pitch. Hopefully it pays off. Up the potters.

I'm interested to see this guy Kershaw on the bench. 18 year old defensive midfielder, signed in the Summer.
Maybe Neil has looked at his options and thought who can I try in midfield? Looking for options.
Edit: or maybe there's no one else left fit who can make up the numbers.

I see AN agreed to the standard stoke city lobotomy upon arrival aswell then.
Every manager that walks through the stoke city doors becomes clueless! Coates office door must be like the frigging twilight zone!

Hope I'm proven wrong but that's a worrying midfield! Sparrow not the right type? I'd even prefer Wilmot over Smallbone with Clarke at LRB if this is the formation.
Lots of attacking talent on the field at least?

Down to the bare bones now, even the bench is almost threadbare. Gouranga.
