I don’t think his words did justice to how bad that was. Remarkably passive about it. He said"Why the fuck did I leave Sunderland for this clusterfuck of a club"? He didn’t but if you visit the Sunderland message board I think it’s fair to say the point hasn’t been lost on them 😕

First time we’ve conceded 4 in a home league game for about 5 years if I’m not mistaken, here’s to the next 5….games😅

We will be playing at Vale Park next season. We are a sinking ship. Vale would wipe the floor with us based on today.

Players just aren't good enough, Morgan Fox - Nah. Wilmot - Nah Flint - Nah. The rest are humdrum at best. Worst team for years that we've had. This break coming up hopefully will do us some favours and we can get some better personnel in, otherwise, map to the Vale. Players that can control the ball, pass 10 yards and put in a tackle would be useful.

The last 20 minutes was the least professional performance I've seen from a Stoke team in years! It was really embarrassing! Certainly the worst in many a year. How many times did we give the ball away aimlessly? Not sure what we actually set up to do

Not blaming the manager but he didn't do himself any justice today a bad system should have played 4 at the back and 3 up front we look awful playing the wing back system.

All-British team destroyed by a team assembled from all corners of the globe and managed by a continental manager But of course they’re a joke of a club with all their madcap chopping and changing. Bet their fans are well jealous of us [br I’m not in any way suggesting that we should be like them but for Christ’s sake take a punt with a continental manager for just once in your life Coates !!! And look beyond the British shores for a couple of players. Is it realistic to think that in the whole wide world there isn’t a better player than the utterly atrocious Morgan Fox? One of the worst players I’ve ever seen in my life!! Mix it up a bit, that’s all I’m suggesting.

It was a very poor performance to rank with some of those under MON. Why pass it back to our goalkeeper from the opposition half when under no pressure. We did that about four times today. It needed changing at half time why did it take AN so long to get some different personnel on the pitch. Smallbone can neither attack or defend. Why was Taylor dropped, much better in a back three than the three that played. What the hell have they done in training in the last 2 weeks you would think MON was still here. They all need a kick up the arse and be told to earn their ridiculous salaries.

We really have a very poor squad of players with very poor attitudes. This manager should be under no illusion of the job ahead of him.

Post by independent on Sep 5, 2022 at 11:43am Do we really have one of the best squads in the division, with 4 forwards that are the envy of other clubs? I would love to see peoples assessment of the squad that AN has inherited. It seems very unlikely to me that you could assemble a top quality squad under the conditions of the last few years.I know people will quote Coventry, Luton, Huddersfield etc, but none of them had most of their income already committed to paying the wages of players who weren't actually playing for them. And they seem to be flash in the pans. Even Wilder who a lot on here coveted is not exactly pulling up trees at Boro. What is your opinion of our Squad? Massively overrated is my opinion. Souttar is a good player. Powell too, but rarely fit. Brown I like but he's only a decent Championship player, nothing more. Baker's ok too. Delap looks overrated to me. Gayle, I haven't made my mind up yet. He's either unlucky so far or we've done what we usually do and bought a once decent player on the decline. The rest range from not bad for the championship on a good day to League One standard most of the time eg Fox, Flint, our goalkeepers, Smallbone, etc. Lower midtable nothing again this season. I only hope that Neil is able to see what's wrong and is the manager to fix it.

Biblic said something really telling today
These players know what it takes to go to Stoke and Preston to win , the world now officially views us a lower midrabod championship club you need to win at to get in the play offs , what a swift and expensive decline

Clarke played Laurent into trouble. If he had a left foot it would have gone down the line. Spot on ge wad totally lost and two horrendous basic passes cost us abd fir the seven Smallbone just gets pout muscled both were totally out of their depth

This game was the first I've seen this season - at least on a big screen where I could see who actually got the ball.
It was at my brother's place, since he has the tv channel where they showed Stoke-Watford today here.
We didn't even have a laugh, since it was so awfully bad. Not one great goal chance during the whole game! The free kick from Baker was our best chance.
And why all the crosses all the time?
What Smallbone tried to achieve after he was tackled in the middle of the game, is out of understanding.
Baker was ok, my MoM (my brother's too).
He texted me this evening saying they show a replay of the game tonight. I didn't think they could without being prosecuted, since it was that bad.
Several classes below the std I thought they had.

These players operate in a comfort zone and don't look capable of a good scrap. Do we have anyone even capable of giving an opposition player a good old- fashioned honest kick ? . They saunter into training to an ultra modern facility with pristine training pitches and the very best of facilities. Most of them have great contracts and it seems to me no real ambition. Campbell is a case in point, I'm sure he got a brilliant contract after the Rangers interest and despite his injury he should really have kicked on by now; currently he can't get in the first eleven and could anybody say he shows real desire and drive when introduced. We would be better off training on the side of a hill with a portacabin as a changing room like the early days of TP's reign. Until we have three or four real scrappers in the side the like of Jonny Walters for example we have no chance of getting out of this league.

Would not be too surprised if AN is sacked well before December, maybe even sooner, especially if we get battered by Burnley and Sheff Utd.

Watford are a good side who will be thereabouts come the end of the season. Although we have injuries, yesterday showed the job AN has to do. We don`t look fit enough to compete at this level. We also have players who are not good enough for this level. We won`t go down, there are worse teams than us in this division. A top half finish might be achievable. I think Neal needs time and our patience to sort this out.

What I 'love' about this club is that it never stops kicking you in the bollocks.
There I was enjoying the fact that we had managed to wipe out our negative goal difference in one fell swoop in our astonishing 3-0 win at Hull, only for the next home game to restore it, and, of course, add just that little bit more.
So very Stoke City.
