Seriously, if I didn’t have an ST, it would be the red button for me. Worrying bit for me, 3 weeks no game and not that arsed about Saturday. Probably the WBA game still fresh in the memory.

20,111 was the official attendance apparently Lucky if there was 15,000 in the ground but fair play to the Cardiff fans who I thought travelled in decent numbers

Are people seriously still trying to suggest that the crowd is calculated from people going through the turnstile rather than tickets sold?
No way on earth was there more than 15,000 in the ground today, there was literally 3 rows of season ticket holders in front of me in the Sentinel Stand who didn’t turn up…..

I work on turnstiles have done for 15yrs every ticket or season card that enters the ground is counted on the machines they are then tallied up to give you the attendance Fact not some made up number that some on here think it is. Good following from Cardiff of about 1400.

Good following from Cardiff of about 1400. So you see the figure on your turnstile being added to the figures on all the other turnstiles and then you see that total being reconciled to the official attendance? I bet you don’t. There is no way, absolutely no way that the stadium was actually physically two-thirds full today. No way.

In the turnstiles when we press the button to let you in a counter goes over by how many you let in which tallies with the people entering the said turnstile when we have finished we go back to the turnstile office and all the number of attendees are matched up on computer by the same lady that has done it for years and I can guarantee you that's how it works. More to the point why are you saying that somebody who actually works there is lying when you haven't got a clue how the system works?

So when you say the lady in the office matches the attendees what do you mean? What figure from what source is she matching to what, and for what purpose? At no point did I accuse you of lying (by that I mean deliberately saying something you know to be untrue). I am merely trying to get to the bottom of what is clearly an ongoing misunderstanding. Did you go into the stadium today? If so did you think there were actually 20k people in there?

I bet the moment they saw the World Cup draw hundreds went out and bought tickets, you’d have done it just to avoid the England game on the TV. Good following though……

I’m saying they do that for the purpose of knowing how many fans there are physically at the game, then they add the rest of the people with tickets who didn’t attend to give the “official attendance”……….

It has got nowt do with tickets sold there is 55 turnstiles all the turnstile scanners count how many fans come through each one and they are added up to give the official attendance.

Anyone who things there was over 20,000 actually in attendance at yesterday’s game is either blind or can’t count…..

The capacities according to Wikipedia are:
Boothen end 6k South stand 6k West stand 7.3k East stand 10.7k
I was in the West stand so can’t say how full it looked all the way across. Where I sit though there were plenty of gaps.
To the naked eye the Boothen and East stands looked no more than 50% full and the South stand was probably less than that.
So 3k Boothen, 6k east stand, 2.5k south stand = 11.5k (call it 12k max). Then add in whatever the west stand was, which doesn’t get you to 20k.
Appreciate what people who work at the club are saying but I can’t see how anybody can seriously look at that crowd and say the ground was 2/3 full.

I’ve been told by a neighbour who works down the ground that it what ppl through the turnstiles, but no way was there 20,000 there yesterday, I’d say 14-15 at most
