Stat of the week
Last time Stoke won their opening game of the season was 2009, no other team in the EFL has a longer streak of failing to win their first match currently.
Who better to break that streak against than that smug bastard Rowett today🤞

Campbell for Brown - who should be out on loan A player who scored 13 last season should be out on loan for a player who has managed 19 in his career for us and coming back from a serious injury ? Can we afford to be sending players out on loan who score goals?

I think 3-5-2 obviously. I wouldn't be surprised to see Taylor as one of the centre backs probably with Jagielka and Flint. Wing backs obviously Tymon and Clarke. I think his preferred midfield is going to be Baker, Laurent and Smallbone. I think Campbell and Brown will start up front as he's usually loyal to players in possession of the shirts so Gayle will have to sit on the bench. If Gayle starts I wonder if Thompson might get a deep lying midfield slot with Campbell and Brown both benched.

I’m feeling optimistic today. Stoke 2-1 with a double from Gayle, Afobe with the goal for them.

I remember we played Millwall first game of the season years ago but at home. Lost 1-2. I was in Australia and waiting for my Mum to find the score on Ceefax whilst wondering how much the hotel phone bill was going to be.Money badly spent in the end.

I just hope against hope that he drops this wing back system & goes 4-4-2, we haven’t got the team capable of wingbacks unlike Chelsea who employ athletes! Expecting the full backs to in effect overtake the midfield players when we could have the extra player in midfield from the off. Full backs can still venture forward occasionally but current system leaves us exposed to conceding too readily, by the way hope I’m wrong and we win 0-5 😛

Campbell for Brown - who should be out on loan Yep, sending your top goalscorer out on loan is a perfectly sane and rational idea. Baffling.

First game back in the Championship under Lou. I think Ian Bogie ( who went on to score against us for the Vale after 12 seconds) opened the scoring for Millwall.
