Sorry if I’ve missed anything
But obviously with Allen departing
We don’t have a captain officially announced by the club!
What’s everyone’s thoughts , got to be baker for me 🧐

There really is only one serious candidate - obviously, Baker.

Who's the best in the squad at guessing a coin toss?

Who's the best in the squad at guessing a coin toss? Whoever it is can simply tell Baker which way to call!

I think Powell might get the club captaincy, a bit left field but perhaps the most senior at the moment. Imagine Souttar will end up being the match day captain when back

Souttar, next Baker/Jags/Powell I thought realistically Souttar won't be a starter until not long before Xmas? And you just know when he does start then shortly after some minor tidy op will be required, it always is.

I would have thought it'll be Baker, I don't get the Flint thinking tbh.

I'd let Souttar focus on recovering and getting back to where he was at last season, he's a future captain for sure if he sticks around, in the meantime I'd give the armband to Baker.

Can’t see that, Souttar will be bustin a gut to have proved his fitness before the World Cup.

When I was told about Baker signing a new deal it was said then that we'd be looking to make him captain.
I'd like it to be Souttar myself but Baker makes sense.

Got to be Baker he was acting like a captain even when Allen was here, constantly talking to players and geeing them up.

I'd rather not pile any more pressure on Souttar - he's got enough trying to get fit and potentially going to a world cup. Baker for me - he'd be the best thing since sliced bread.

Captain in football is pretty meaningless isn't it? You should have 3/4 in a team anyway and the only thing that should set them apart is they do the coin toss. You should have 4/5 players that are in the refs ear and leading. It's not like cricket where a captain actually does something.

I think it's more pressure - you're the leader of the group who should be leading by example, keep any wankers in order in the dressing room, dealing with the media, traipsing round to pensioners to give shirts out, etc. Let Souttar concentrate on his game.

That should be done by the group imo. I don't see why it should be any more pressure. You just don't want someone who isn't a leader. It's why Allen was always such a poor choice. Souttar and Baker are both ideal for it.
