We've never played Morecambe, have we? New ground too. Went there in 2018 with the u21s in the Checkatrade trophy ( no bogs were destroyed that night , despite an excellent fish , chips and mushy peas supper ) won 2-1 Campbell scored the winner

I think you're allowed to tick it off your list for that game........

I don't even know where that is I looked at booking the Midland Hotel there for 1 night this August, a Sunday night, and it was Ā£350 B&B for a sea facing view, you wouldn't want a non sea facing view over Morecambe

I do like a nice sea view though. I imagine is one of those places that is described as 'bracing' and the locals wear Bretton hats and white jumpers. Quite excited about this venture to what isn't where I thought it was.

An ex home game for me as I used to live in Lancaster, can finally tick of seeing the Stoke first team at Morecambe, having seen the u21's twice, Vale and both Shrewsbury and Crewe at Morecambe. Shrewsbury and Crewe were at the old ground (now a sainsburys) and the game vs Crewe is one the best games ive actually ever been to, Crewe 3-1 up with 3 minutes to go and lost 4-3, and one Mr Artell scoring the winner for a 10 man Morecambe

Having been to Morecambe many times on scooter rallies, it Ƭs affectionately known as the Dog shit capital of the UK. More shit on the pavement per metre than anywhere else!

Shades of 72? Away at Morecambeā¦.we were away at Southport back then! We certainly were. I remember it well because it was my first ever Stoke City game. My Dad took me because at the time we were living just down the road in Crosby and we were hoping to see Gordon Banks. As it happens the great man didn't play that day!

My advice, stop in Lancaster, it's a great drinking town. I like the pubs on the canal, the waterwitch and white cross, or in town the borough and the sun

I think Hauguarrd made a couple of big errors and a young c/b was sent off in the first half. They had a Harvester type pub near the ground.

It was 2-1, though I can't remember the order of the scoring. I'd been to Southport FC a few times before that game and the crowd was usually 2,000 to 3,000. That night it was 10,225. We used to sit in the main stand but that night when we arrived it was already full so we stood up near the far left corner (looking from the main stand). I can picture it now. You are right, three sides of the ground were standing and you could walk all the way round from one goal to the other. Those were the days.
