As a now single man I’ve lost my fondness for cooking and have started chucking any old shite in the oven to satisfy my hunger cravings and hate going supermarkets. Tried Hellofresh for a few weeks but found the menu limited after a while and the portions a bit small although I was cooking portions for two saving some for next days lunch. Any recommendations? Only sensible posts considered Iancransonsknees and Felonious😉 Load of fucking bollocks the lot of 'em these services. Aimed solely at the unimaginative / too much money demograph. You can make the stuff they proffer for half the price (and with better, cheaper ingredients most of the time) if only you could bother your arse to go to Tesco. If you're pushed for time though, can't muster the enthusiasm to plan and cook meals, want to save money AND lose weight then I'd recommend developing a fair to middling methamphetamine habit. Or there's Soylent or one of the other modern beige mush companies for the truly can't be fuckin arsed.

Get yourself an air fryer and experiment. Brilliant for peppers, mushrooms, baked potatoes, sausages, loads of stuff. Here’s one quick suggestion… mushroom black pudding burger; two big mushrooms with a slice of Stornaway black pudding in between and a topping of apple sauce and some coleslaw. No bread mind. Delicious. If you feeling hungry, add a pork loin steak. Quick, easy and no problem to keep clean. A really good countertop toaster oven will have a fan to duplicate the air fryer. Also bakes and broils rather than buying a uni tasker to clutter the place up. Less power too. Goodly amount of spuds in the big pan. That way you can have mashers, potato cakes. With air frying croquettes are quick and easy. Par boil and finish in the air fryer for pub roastys.* Par boil Brussels and then bake or fry with a little balsamic. Chestnuts in season a must. Buy a jar of peanut sauce. Cut a cuq into thin strips. Choppped chicken…your in Thailand *I am a little like the fiction Peter Beardsley and his eggs..but with potatoes. Cracking use of the word goodly. I'm taken back to some of the bullshit English literature a level class I did.

It’s not that I can’t be arsed, I just don’t have the inclination to knock up culinary delights for one. I’ve always been well into my cooking and most of that was due to the other half enjoying what I’d cooked, a sense of achievement if you like. It’s good to do things for other people, doing it solely for myself is no fun. Your methamphetamine isn’t a bad shout mind

I sent that image to mar lady earlier, she's been asked to translate a document from English to American English 🤦 Your use of the word goodly makes a mockery of my ridicule.

My (former) mate does a lot of hunting and cooked a badger once. I don’t speak to him anymore! Although I did like his Squirrel Bhuna recipe I'll eat most things but draw the line at squirrel, they've got personality. They were top of the tree in our garden for entertainment during lockdown. Many's the time I excused myself from a teams meeting to feed my squirrel. Is that a euphemism

Since I unsubscribed they’re inundating me with offers of 50% off my next 3 orders I think and you can cancel anytime so might be worth doing that for as long as possible?

If it's really quick stuff you are after, then there are a load of slow cooker recipes knocking about on social media - places like Instagram, Twitter and Tiktok. It sounds daft, and there are a fair few clowns on there that you have to wade through, but some of the recipes are quick and easy enough and taste ok if you can't be bothered to stand over a stove for 10 hours like Tom Kerridge, Heston and Ramsay. A good, funny bloke to look at is 'meals by mitch'. A lad from Wolverhampton who has a quirky style of presenting his videos but does a lot of cheap, one pot stuff. Has got a book out too. Serious point here but he's done a load of 'meals for under a fiver' videos to help out families that are struggling now. mealsbymitch.customcontent.store/gb/product/6177fe19418ee94b3148d6a0instagram.com/mealsbymitchofficial?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=vm.tiktok.com/ZMN2Bk7ja/

Ay up badge.
As a guy whos lived on his tod for several years i have learned to be very resourceful when cooking especially when it comes to avoiding repetitive boring food and microwave meals, which i detest.
Get theesen a slow cooker mate. You can make loads of stuff in them and it will be cooked to perfection when you get in. I can vouch for some great lobby, curry, whole cooked chicken, pulled pork using one.
Cooked chicken can be ideal for multiple meals too, wraps, salads, Sunday dinner, etc.
Oh and i would also suggest a wok as ive made some great Chinese food over the years. You can knock up a chow mein in 15-20 minutes.
Dont be afraid to experiment as ive stumbled onto some novel food ideas over the years.
Sometimes you can find ideas on the web and modify them to suit you.

Still better than Nesquick to be fair. Indeed! That stuff is vile and I love a milkshake A half spoon of Horlicks in a milkshake for the American Malt flavour, plenty of ice cream. 👍 Blueberry a fave The slow cooker idea above agree with can feed you for a few days. Turn off for a few hours and let the meat go soft. Plenty of spices as someone has mentioned ....would suggest Tubby Toms, available on Amazon. Spicier the better for me but strictly no garlic.
