It was, he should have been there. And this deal could spell one of said younger players unnecessarily being shipped out on loan if he’s coming to play as a CB 🤦♂️ I just hope he’s coming as a right back. Forrester and Taylor are both going out on loan and rightly so. It’s not right at all. Forrester is more than good enough as he has shown playing better in this league than THB and Ostigard. It’s an absolute waste.

Which couldn’t be said of THB for definite.

It’s an absolute waste. Forrester still has lots to learn, his fitness record is concerning to say the least. His performances have been ok, no more or less. He’s much better off having a full season in league 1 than a bit part player for us. Maybe the season after he can stake a proper claim.

It’s clear what the plan is, Flint and Jags are here next season while Forrester and Taylor are away on loan. Hopefully they will improve and be ready to play regular championship football in 23/24.

I've just 'liked' 3 comments by Bayern in a row. He's spot on. (Totally wrong re Joe Allen of course!)

So are you saying he should be making his mistakes and learning his trade in the Championship? I think he’s done pretty well in his games here. That said, it’s impossible to extrapolate how well he’d do over a season from a couple of games in relatively no pressure scenarios. I wouldn’t have been upset having him as cover for a three, however; is it really better for him to play 10-20 games (many as a last 10-15 minute guy) in the Championship alongside many variations of defensive partners, than it is to have a full season as a first choice in a league below? He’s barely kicked a ball professionally. He needs a full season to develop off the pitch as much as on it.

He made loads but that’s part and parcel of it.

Let’s see the kind of clubs who come for him on loan then shall we? That will give us an indication of the level he’s currently at.

And it just adds more questions about not keeping him at Mansfield this season. Barely used, pissed him off and disrupted his development. Great stuff.

Errr pretty sure similar things were said this time last year, don’t trust O’Neill in the window!!!! Why not be optimistic? If MON has learnt lessons and is getting the right players in that we need then why not look forward to the season ahead. How can you be optimistic with this dinosaur still in charge? He bought in THB and Wilmot last year who were both dogshit. He the presided to play Chester who was also dogshit. Why should you be confident with his signings and how the F##k you and the other O’Neill lovers can be optimistic is deluded. He’s a dinosaur outta of his depth and needs to go!!!!!

He won’t be playing 20 games for stoke anyway. Played a few league 2 games and that’s it. He might get a league 1 loan or back to league 2, certainly not championship.

I wouldn’t call “20 games in all competitions” a regular. I would In a 46 game league season and at least 2 cup games? Is it heck regular. It’s less than half of the games available to play.

Arsenal would want a fee which we haven't got atm Herein lies the issue of the current distribution of talent. Clubs at the top horde players that they will never play, bringing even greater disparities in the standard of football across leagues. Manchester City scour the World collecting young footballers like their Arab owners collect the cream of the equine world for their stables, BUT for them it does pay, I may be wrong but I’m sure that they generated more transfer income from the sales of youngsters who may have played the odd cup match or as a unused substitute and even players that had never got near to the first team than any club in Europe generated through the sales of first team regulars and youngsters. I think that this is one of the reasons plus their investment into the East Manchester economy that they skirt the FFP rules, they buy cheap give a world class football education then sell on for millions.
