Don't really get the hate, on a free or cheap, with the full pre season he really needed, no bedding into the squad required. It is an absolute no brainer

I've been told by my Mackem brother-in-law that Maja is ace if you supply him with chances and play a system that allows him to play as a poacher.
whatever we were doing with him last year, it wasn't that, and he looked absolutely wank. I hold out a sliver of hope that he could be the answer in the right system, but I can't say I'd be doing cartwheels even if we signed him on a free.

Maya is OK, but I really hope we wait for a bigger, stronger and quicker striker. That is really crucial if we are aiming for promotion in my opinion.

Looks like building a team to avoid getting involved at the lower end of the table. Its a start still cant see where the goals are going to come from. Maya only scored 3 goals last season my stats say 1 goal every 366 minutes played last season.

We need a forward to complement them, on the evidence I've seen that's not Maja.

At the moment we have Campbell and Brown as our 2 senior strikers. Depending on our formation I’d say we need one more striker (Maia) and 2 target men if possible so we have all bases covered unless Tezgel is deemed ready.

Who knows, Tezgel could be mustard pre season and some of our problems are solved.

Moving him up stairs should never happen, having someone that's already failed holding the reins re signings etc seems very odd to me. I think the overall strategy has been good though. Going for younger players with re-sale value or frees. I think people are getting a bit too hung up on Surridge and Doughty. They came, didn’t pan out, were moved on with no real consequences. I’d say he’s got more right in terms of permanent deals than he’s got wrong. The loans have been more miss than hit admittedly. He might not be the man but we do need someone who lays out strategy, understands the finances and sets the footballing philosophy moving forward. He ticks a lot of boxes and I would imagine he has a decent enough relationship with “the family”. I'm happy with the trying to keep it young strategy but thats easy enough to pass on without having to move MON up stairs, but if you include all transfers I think suggesting its been poor is being kind. You say no consequences but we lost money on them at a time we can't afford to.

Can’t see us aiming to start the season with 5 strikers to be honest. Not when we are skirting ffp as it is. I’d imagine we’ll aim for a big lad and at best, one more. I wouldn’t be upset going into the start of the season with three strikers and Tezgel + Taylor as reserves.

We saw enough of him last season to know he is ineffective.

You say no consequences but we lost money on them at a time we can't afford to. I'm not a fan of MON but I think to suggest his transfer dealings have been any less than average is nonsense. There will be some he's lost on some he's bought in who he could profit on. All in all pretty hit and miss, somewhere around 50% not coming off which is pretty standard across the board for footballer transfers with no major disasters financially ie by losing all your outlay or being lumbered with players drawing wages and not being under consideration. Fuck it, you know I'm going to go as far as to say that's above average. Entertainment value of the football, in game management, selection, man management, understanding and judgement of what he wants and requires, so many sticks to beat him with why bother choosing that one. In short if you can't take losing a bit of money on football transfers the best thing to do is not to do any, can't think of a single manager in my lifetime who didn't make some almighty fuck up's in the transfer market.

www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=43909Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that the Super Eagle is attracting interest from EFL Championship club Cardiff City and Belgian Pro League teams Anderlecht and Royal Antwerp. There is also interest from Stoke City, where he spent the second half of last season on loan, and was involved in five goals in seventeen all-competition appearances
