Flint is another example of muddled thinking, if he signs.

He's going to win his headers and make his blocks But the change from playing in a team that doesn't value possession at all (one of the lowest in the league), and presumably sat pretty deep in a bit of an old-fashioned way, to a team that has (until now) tried to play it out from the back is still going to be an issue, you'd think. Batth never really looked at home, and neither did the team with him there. Suppose it all depends how we intend to set up next year, and how much he'll be used. On paper, he'd maybe be no.4 behind a fit Souttar, Jagielka and Wilmot in any back 4 pecking order? (But would he have come if that was the case, who knows?. We'll never know how many other options he had) he is going too win headers and blocks an possibly score afew goals from corners.. it’s the passing on around the back mon loves an quick strikers that bothers me

Centre Half is a funny position. I always thought Wes Morgan was a hopeless footballer, and a disaster waiting to happen, but then he marshalled that Leicester back line to the title and was absolutely outstanding well into his thirties! Wes Morgan marshalled Leicester too the title 😂😂😂😂 fucking hell that’s made my day hahahahahahah just forget the rest of the team an huth then fella hahahahahah that’s a good one that one Forgive me if i'm wrong, but he was their captain was he not?

Wonder if it also gives us the option to shift formation in the type of games that we threw away late in second half, switching to a back 4 to shut up shop with Flint, with his extra height and no nonsense just get the ball out or into touch approach. But would then also be a threat at set pieces for game winners at the other end.

But would then also be a threat at set pieces for game winners at the other end. It's all about fit though, isn't it? I could tell from what the Cardiff fans were saying that there was a lot to like about him in a Danny Batth-type way. And Tachyon's stats confirmed that. But if you're asking him to play in a higher line, leaving him exposed on the turn and in behind, and pass the ball out regularly (and we tend to with our defenders), it probably isn't going to work out. I think his profile immediately rules him out from playing in either wide role in a back three (and surely he's behind Souttar and Jagielka for the central role that doesn't ask as much athletically. But then it comes down to what we'd be asking our 2 centre-backs in a back 4 to do - and we don't know yet. So we'll have to see what the plan is (assuming he signs)
