Great, another one with an injury question. But is that just where we are at in the market now?
I would imagine yes, otherwise they're too expensive.
Although, if this guy can stay healthy I like the allegations of physicality.
Edit: Maybe he just had bad luck this year with the injury?
This issue with MON thinking we "don't need" a defensive specialist in midfield in the Championship drives me nuts.
Only way I can see that working is if we score 5 goals a game and squeak 5-4 wins.
Maybe I just don't get his "strategy?"

He looks to be a decent player but, as a CENTRAL midfielder (i.e. competition for Baker) he looks like he would not be the specialist DEFENSIVE midfielder we really need. I'd rather we cast the net wider to sign a specialist defensive midfielder. He's said specifically 2-3 times that he doesn't want one though, so someone with these attributes could be about as close as we get Ridiculous comments from a manager who is tactically inept. |

I watched about 10 Reading games last season, does that count? It'll do What do you think of him? He's quick, covers a lot of ground, definitely a box to box type. Played as one of 2 CM in a 4-2-3-1 for a Reading team that didn't know how to defend, but I wouldn't say that was his fault. Good on the ball and can run with it when needed but he's not as "cultured" as someone like Baker. |

Played most of the season in a 2 man midfield without an out and out DM. |

He's played for Reading 125 times in the league  It's crazy how utterly ignorant you can actually be  If someone asked me to name 3 players from every Championship side I'd genuinely be struggling. I’d struggle naming you every championship side. |

Why does the proven wrong thing bother people? You absolutely want to be proven wrong if you think someone signing is shit. Because it's a shit get out and I don't think people actually mean it. And it also means people look for the negatives in a player as they are desperate to be proved right. I don't think it's a shit get out to be honest. If someone has legit and logical concerns over a signing, like a few have in regards to Aden Flint in terms of age/how he fits/recruitment plan, then that's absolutely fine. Not a single rational person who has those concerns is going to be celebrating a player doing badly for us, and certainly won't be upset if he does well for us which could be seen as him "proving people wrong". |
