Heard them discussing on Talksport earlier that Cardiff are upping their efforts to sign him and debating whether he could still cut it with a Premier league club etc.
Completely hyperthetical of course, but in a parallel universe, he realises that he's made his fortune so comes down to our wage structure in order to prove himself for the world Cup...
Would you take him at Stoke? Would he cause more issues than he would solve?

He looked totally past it for Wales the other day.
Worth a punt for anyone in the Champo if he was willing to play for peanuts but yeah I think he'd be a pain the arse and probably wouldn't play that well.

MLS would be better for him. The grind of midweek games in the championship would wear him down and he needs to be as fresh and lively as possible prior to the tournament.

He's the type of signing we'd be nailed on to make if we were in the Prem with Pulis in charge.

whoever signs him will have to put up with "The Gareth Bale Show", everything else being secondary to his waning star

If he's playing football he's interested and if he's interested it's a complete no brainer for a lot of Premier League clubs let alone Championship clubs.
He's been way of full fitness for a oing time with consistent game time.

What’s that Tox, distant memories?….but what fantastic memories they are aren’t they?…..along with Waddo’s 70’s heroes, Durban’s promotion team, Lou…..lots of amazing memories over 50+ years. I can recommend positive memories….takes your mind off the shit show of the last 6 years!

Outrageously-priced super-sub with a super-sized media-habit. We have FFP to deal with and he's going to be WAY too expensive. [buzzer] Have to be rested in our league to prevent explosion. [buzzer]
One that can come in and totally freak out a crowd but you hope he doesn't blow a head-gasket doing it. He could be like Crouch and start a podcast.
So paying all that to get...essentially a part-time player. (No way he could keep up with our schedule) Especially with our history with keeping older players fit...
No thanks, that's the exact direction I do NOT want to see this club going in.
And (Warning, opinion here) yes, he'd cause more problems than he'd solve. We've been there, I still have the T-Shirt.

He doesn't need the money but does need to keep fit for the World Cup. I think Cardiff might be a goer for him as he has a large family house just down the road from where Wales train, just off the M4.

Would only work in a 4-2-3-1, which we don’t really have the players for. I’d rather see what Doughty could do there anyways, rather than get 6-9 decent months from Bale and be broke afterwards.

If we could get him on a one-year deal, he'd definitely have something to offer but Bale would be expecting to be a starter, and do we really want to stunt Tymon's progress when he's made good strides last season? We could accommodate both Bale and Tymon in a 4-3-3... but going four at the back is not MON's preferred formation. If Bale wasn't getting the games he needs, the last thing we need is a big-time charlie on relatively big wages causing dressing room unrest by sitting in the dugout pretending he's asleep if he's on the subs bench.

We're not seriously saying that Tymon is somehow better than Gareth Bale, surely? He would be a brilliant signing for us, but would never sign for us because he's much better than that. He might sign for Cardiff but only for emotional reasons. I think the only reservation is how well he would cope with a 46 game season where every single opponent spends the entire game clobbered him.

Why are people even entertaining the idea of Bale joining us? There's no chance of that. Not even when we were in the Prem.
May as well debate how Mbappe, Vinicius Jr and Haaland would fit into our squad.

Of course Tymon isn't better, but he is a more longer-term prospect for us whereas Bale would most likely want to leave for one last mega payday in the MLS after the World Cup. I'd be fine with that, as Josh can learn a lot from somebody of Bale's stature. If Bale left in January, Josh can pick up the mantle again and hopefully be a better player for it... though on the other hand not getting much game time isn't exactly conducive to improvement. If Allen is going to stay, he can at least make himself useful by hoicking in Bale as well! But I do think Josh would see that as a kick in the nuts if MON sticks with 3 at the back, especially if Bale is only here on a short-term deal.

Not someone who swaggers it around giving it the "big I am", unlike a lot of today's Footballers!!! But then again, I am only going off what I see on the TV, I honestly wouldn't know what he's like in the dressing room???
