Can anyone recommend a good sun cream ? Going to Turkey in a few weeks and it’s going to be very hot…I’ve been many times before so I know what to expect lol. My main problem is that I’m fairly light skinned and burn quite easily…but I really want a light tan this year. I’ve tried loads of different makes over the years but none were suitable really. Any suggestions welcomed 👍😎

Find a suncream without parabens which are the ingredients that cause the skin to burn despite putting applications on throughout the day. If you Google, you should find some examples. Last time I was in the Canaries in the mid to high 30s, I used a natural based suncream and started off with around 30SPF and once I started getting tanned, I reduced the SPF down to 15 and finally to 10 and I came back with a lovely golden tan. Best aftersun to use is aloe Vera type ones.

I'm fair skinned too and always had the same problems.
What currently works for me is factor 30 to start off and then bring down to about 20 if possible. Few years ago I discovered Aldi brand was very good and worked well for me, but it doesn't suit the kids so stopped using it.
Went to Greece couple of weeks ago and used superdrug cream and a factor 20 oil by piz buin. Seemed to work pretty well.
I use superdrug aftersun gel, works really well for me.

Try one of those marked "intolerance". They have an extra UVA/B protection, not to get sun eczema that easily.
Believe me, it sucks, I still have mine left from last year.
Me and the sun aren't exactly friends. I got burnt when it's cloudy ... even though I don't have pale skin, light blue eyes and ginger hair - quite the opposite actually.
Good Luck! Nice Holiday!

No disrespect but I find it hard to understand people who probably spend quite a lot of money going on holiday trips to some of the hottest countries and resorts around the world, then spend their time worrying if they have got enough Sun protection, and are afraid of getting burnt. Either don't go or choose a more temperature friendly destination.
But have a good holiday!

That is a fair point however I'm snookered as my lady is fair and burns in the moonlight 😁 but I like the sun so we visit hotter destinations and sit in the shade and she uses factor 50 🌞

Aldi is as good as anything. Just choose a high protection. There is no need in paying for an expensive brand, the Aldi stuff provides exactly the same protection

I have never used sun cream and have no idea how to apply it, don’t rub it in.

Will it be called Turkey by then? These days, countries 'rebrand': www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-61671913Although the Czech Republic has been called Czechia for years, and everyone seems to ignore that. As for sun cream, I'm quickly burnt without it and recommend Nivea Sun.

Worst sunburn I ever has was in Abersoch when I was ten. Fine here in FNQ. Just keep a hat on

Just keep a hat on In Primary school we once went on a school day trip to Rhyl. In fact we did Rhyl and Prestatyn on the same day for some reason, and the experience is forever seared upon my memory, and it took me years to recover from the culture shock. I am still wary of Jelly fish! Incidentally the welsh for "Jellyfish" was for a long time "pysgodyn wibli wobli" until it was changed by some academics.

Anything with a 5* Ultra rating will do the job mate.
I use the cheaper branded 'Malibu' range and have always found that does the job for me. Its UVA rating is 5* 'Ultra' and they come in 50, 30 & 15, probably less aswell but don't usually venture to far south of that due to having blonde hair. I'm not a fan of applying the stuff so do prefer the Malibu Continous Spray Range which is easier to apply & non greasy. Obviously the cream variants do provide slightly better protection though.
Home Baragins definitely do the Malibu range but it's quite readily available in other outlets.
Have actually found both the Asda and Tesco own branded suncreams are UVA 5* rated aswell so they'll do the job for a good price aswell.
Yeah you can go top branded & priced if you wish but the cheaper brands are just as good if you double check for the ratings which are generally shown on the rear of the packaging.

Unfortunately I burn easy so need factor 50 lol
However having looked into it you need 5 * on both ratings for UVA etc Some of the brand leaders don't have this however if you look at aldi they do and its cheap and protects well also check out lidl I know it goes against a the grain buying cheap but it's the ratings you look for

Hazel eyes, medium brown hair and not that typical pale skin you find on ginger hair people.
