i thought it would have gone to wrexham for some reason.
If only our council had listened to the actual creatives who offered their time and vision to make Stoke the city of culture last time around, and not completely blanked them. Instead we had non-visionaries suggesting people on stilts and jugglers in hanley.

Bradford? I'm sure that the "Rhubarb triangle" will be an important local feature of interest.

The thing that I remember about Bradford was the University episode. Going back to the 60's and the age of the Polytechnics, there was the Bradford Institute of Technology. When the wave of academic change came along many Colleges and Polys, including Bradford's Institute, contrived to become Universities. I was told that the administrators of Bradford Tech wanted a snappy new name for their relaunched academic institution and employed an expensive Consultancy firm to come up with or suggest an appropriate title. After a lot of market research the Consultants, at a fee of several thousand pounds, eventually came up with three considered options: 1. Bradford University. 2. University of Bradford. 3. Bradford Yorkshire University. It is now imaginitively called "Bradford University".

Architecturally it's a lovely city, like many others it's tired and run down though so hopefully this will give it the boost it needs........

I hope tourists don't confuse Bradford with Bradford on Avon in Somerset, which is a lovely town with attractive honey coloured stone buildings, and river Weirs, often described as a mini Bath.
