Mistakes like this aren't going to help his cause and probably why he couldn't make a breakthrough. After all this was Millwall, not some Premier team.

Just watching that & I noticed someone had done a montage of his worst mistakes. All of which I recall, but most of which I'd managed to block out. Absolutely horrific.
The one at Leicester away, wasn't on there.

Butland was pathetic, however for me the moment that confirmed to me we were 100% down is Adam’s penalty miss and subsequent inability to get to the rebound despite having a head start to the ball.

I think Adam has got way too much stick for that as it was 100% another penalty when he missed that "sitter".

Probably not his worst one but I nearly smashed my telly in frustration was the one where he punched it out at West Ham (instead of the simple catch) and they scored 🙈

Watford would be an ideal move. Foster released. Bachmann linked with United today. No.

He’s in an awkward spot. He’s always seemed ambitious so won’t want to give that up to be a Man City/Man Utd Grant/Carson replacement unless he’s looking at coaching/management?
Won’t get a premier league move.
So abroad, or championship, both come with large salary cuts.
I personally quite liked him, his decline though has been one of the worst I’ve seen.

He is not the first Stoke player to miss a penalty, and to claim the ball already should have been in the net when he was fouled is a bit stupid in my opinion. He took his time to make sure he would put it in the net, but was fouled before he did. It was a clear cut penalty, nothing more nothing less.

I have read that Glasgow Rangers are looking at him with the hope of signing him. I hope that Jack does not end up there. He was once a very promising prospect. He returned from playing for England a shadow of his former self. Jacks ball stopping is great but his ball kicking was absolutey shit. I of often wondered if he was wearing Billy Conolly style Banana Boots instead of football boots when playing for us. Rangers are not cash rich and i imagine that Jack will have taken a wage cut offer to play for them. I would prefer to see him playing for the other boys in blue at Birmingham City. Not good enough for Rangers but bsd enough for the boys from Brum.

Forster has gone to Spurs, could be a bench spot at Soton up for grabs?

Maybe a return to Birmingham? That is way too big a kick in the biscuit tits for any footballer, let alone one needing to resurrect their confidence. p.s. just behind me in a piles of books, I have a Stoke programme signed by Jack against his name on the team list on the back. My kid was made up he signed it. I couldn't get over the size of his gloves.

Rangers be a good move for him. Would only be back up for Mcgregor though has been mermors of retirement. Doubt Palace would get much of a fee for him

Grant has retired, if Henserson goes to Newcastle all of a sudden Unitrd will need a number 2/3 and it helps to fill it with an English man.
One thing I hate about the modern game, but for a player with little prospect of being a Premier League number 1 a very attractive option. Such a shame how his career turned out.

The ball should have already been in the net by the time he was fouled the useless fat….. true Adam missed a key penalty, and then was fouled, Butland however, failed to save any penalties, or much else. I like him personally, but I'm sorry to say he was a big negative in our relegation season and contributed more to our downfall than any other individual player. The injury was cruel on him, and cruel on us.

He’s kind of had a backwards career. Usually players get better with age, but he started so well and has now become a bit of a joke of that potential previously shown.
MLS would be a good move for him.

I would have Butland back easily but it won’t happen
Far too young for Stokes recruitment team

Rangers would be quite good, if that was an option. Failing that, it does look like Champ or MLS
He's only just turned 29, so surely he doesn't want to settle for being a Premier back-up at a smaller team. He's too young for that.
But it depends what he's after and what level he really thinks he can get back to on the pitch. He doesn't seem to have played at a good level since 2016, when he was excellent

Butland was pathetic, however for me the moment that confirmed to me we were 100% down is Adam’s penalty miss and subsequent inability to get to the rebound despite having a head start to the ball. The penalty should have been retaken for significant encroachment into the area, the goalkeeper not on the line, players should have been booked. In fact the goalkeeper could have been sent off for time wasting pre Adam taking the kick and then moving off his line. Abysmal refereeing at the time. Easy to check out, watch the video on YouTube, see how close the encroaching players were from Adam as he “takes” the penalty

I'm assuming that his obligatory 'promo video' on his agent's laptop, got dropped into the North Sea by accident.

Finding some form and pushing on? I mean I honestly think he should be in League One with how bad he actually is now. But if he can get a PL backup gig he’s done well.

But does he actually want to play ? It looks like the Palace no 2 gig is beyond him now, so dunno how much lower down the Prem food chain may open up for him? Being no 2 at a Premier League tiddler must be a bit dispiriting. Probably a financial hit, but playing in the Championship is surely preferable? He's a multi-millionaire, so just depends what he's after

His career went down the shitter with us. And I’ve always fancied third choice at Man City as the best job in the world. He’d be great for that.

Just comes down to if he's still got any ambition or desire to play. If so he needs to go somewhere to play games every Saturday. If not, sit back and go full Richard Wright and hoover up the cash!

Unless I hired a psychologist at the same time. His issues are all in the head imo. He totally lost it.
