Because in Cobham's world they are literally the only 2 options........... Of course not I’ve just got used to the fact that life’s not fair and there’s nothing anybody can really do about it so I just work as hard as I can do and help people where I can in my own little way whether it’s fundraising or helping people within my community. In “my world” which I’m sure you find intellectually inferior to yours and Tommys it’s the way I deal with things because it makes me feel better. Interestingly when I was younger I used to have a right chip on my shoulder where I used to moan about anything and everything including the Royal family and all it did was make miserable. Unfortunately life isn’t fair and that isn’t going to change anytime soon. What I would say in relation to the Jubilee regardless of your political stance it’s given us 4 days where it’s put the smile back on peoples faces (well most peoples).

But you went from someone not wanting an antiquated monarchy to "would you rather live in Cuba" which is a fair old stretch leaving plenty in between........

not sure whether to laugh or cry at our totally bonkers country.
A hologram of the queen, in an empty solid gold coach, being waved at by her 'subjects', in a time of the cost of living crisis.
we'd take the piss out of others countries such as North Korea if we did this.
why should we put up with this one family? They've done nothing but tear apart the entire planet for their own benefit(don't forget WW1 started as an argument between the 3 cousins of England, Germany and Russia).

You can certainly see the parallels between London in 2022 and 1930's Nazi Germany can't you? Look at this lot goose stepping down The Mall.

For some supposed caring charitable people on here they don't half come across as bitter and miserable. It’s been an amazing few days where the smiles been put back on the countries face. After a pretty miserable couple of years more than anything even if you’re not a royalist it’s a time to celebrate a truly great monarch without people sniping.

For some supposed caring charitable people on here they don't half come across as bitter and miserable. I was sat with a homeless army veteran at one o clock this morning, he'd been collapsed in a door way near Piccadilly Gardens for over an hour whilst people wearing Union Jack t-shirts walked past him on the way back from their Jubilee celebrations. Our money is better spend on carrying holograms of the Queen round in a solid gold carriage though, like Cobham says life's shit there's nothing we can do about it. If that makes me bitter and miserable c'est la vie.........

Just been to our local village picnic in the park, the rain put a few off but the silver band were under a couple of gazebos and played on. I managed to win a bottle of red and a bottle of fizz on the tombola 3 for 50p tickets 😋
Those that did turn up seemed to enjoy it, had a Ukrainian family and the 2 young Ukrainian ladies turn up and the Parish Council gave them a bunch of flowers.

I don't think the Jubilee even registered with him, as it didn't with around 70% of the population. He'd have probably laughed at all those inbred Royals with their medals pinned on their coats for winning the annual Balmoral Jenga tournament whilst a veteran of the Bosnian conflict was slumped in a doorway with his trousers round his ankles if he's had a moment to think about the absurdity of it all. Serves him right for not attending his annual village Jubilee garden party like a true British patriot I suppose.......

That’s fantastic we’ve had a few Ukrainians arrive locally where I am and some have started at the local School. Great kids and so well received by the locals even though most of them are Chelsea fans.

He's one of the dozens of residents of Manchester that have fallen through the cracks of Andy Burnham's pledge to end homelessness. Various organisations have tried and failed due to the nature of his mental illness which is very sad as on the 2/3 occasions I've sat with him and spoken to him he's a lovely, intelligent bloke. It wouldn't be for me to pass his details on (and to be fair I only have his first name as I'm merely one of the volunteer "troops on the ground" rather than the generals) but I will certainly mention it to them and if they haven't been in touch previously I'll ask if they can help and message you separately...........

I think you're in good company seeing the amount of bootlickers featured on the BBC over the last few days Attenborough, Andrews, Mica Paris standing out last night. Mica was full of pride just a shame her parents weren't alive to see her perform. Nice to see Attenborough dishing praise out for the enviromental policies of the Royal Family over the decades. It was interesting seeing Marr's discussion on Anita Roddick this week stating that she was so far ahead of the curve it didn't exist when she espoused the policies of the Body Shop. She was treated like a crank and it reminded me of Prince Charles who had exactly the same treatment by the press. Edit: apologies I should have said Dame Anita Roddick

OK. I have a few good friends who are ex military who have had dealings with SSAFA and speak highly of them. Failing that it might be worth taking him to the Borough council and see if they can do anything to help. My understanding from my dealings (not for a couple of years) are that they have to find him somewhere even if it’s not in the same borough. It may be that they can only offer him a room at the YMCA or a hostel initially but it’s a start. Of course a lot will depend on his behaviour which may be dictated by his mental health. If he’s got MH issues he should have a MH worker with adult social services. If not he needs to voluntarily attend A and E and see if he can get some support and a referral there.

As i said in my previous post we may have our faults but when you look at the celebrations over the last 4 days this countries still got a lot to give. If you take away the extremists on either side of the spectrum your Brit is still a great person.

To liken the jubilee to that of nazi Germany is just puddled and so way of the mark its bizarre.

Well the concert was a bit of a mixed bag last night. I haven't clocked the new lead singer of Queen and I realise there are no bigger shoes to fill but I did struggle to enjoy the performance. Rod and Diana were pants, George Ezra was good, Diversity were brilliant. Surprisingly I enjoyed most of the musicals section. I hadn't heard anything from Hamilton before but the singer and cast absolutely nailed it. I've had Coat of many colours and Climb every mountain stuck in my head all day Celeste was a bit disappointing. I heard Father John Mist performing What a wonderful world on 6Music a few weeks back and he did the song justice. The lad who did the sports rap was a bit crap and our two sports superstars were wooden. Charles has done that spot before but I was very impressed with William. .... and the Queen knows how to play the tea cup, who'd a thought
