This guy was standing in the street 10 yards from the retirement home common room opposite and facing the oldies sitting within. If you think this disgusting behaviour is ok that says a lot about your standards, or lack of!

I'm with Nott on this one. Whilst posters have identified a need to go for a wee, posters have yet [to] identifi[y] the need to go for a wee specifically on the pavement... So you’ve never been caught short before? I’ve had to piss at the side of the A50 nowhere near any sort of shrubbery because I was seconds away from a flood over my drivers seat. Plus as has been pointed out these guys literally barely get any time in their shifts to do something as trivial as going for a piss. Yeah, again - the point has been made successfully that delivery drivers need to wee. Specifically on the pavement with exposing yourself? Still no good argument for that. As for your A50 piss, i'm going to presume it wasn't directly in front of someone's house and that you weren't exposing yourself to everyone... Which I think brings us to an important distinction, between where it is, and isn't ok to wee. (And when) I'd add that there's a level of responsibility of the driver to mitigate against making it other people's problems as much as possible. It becomes a massive massive problem for example, if someone gets caught short by a school and a bunch of kids would be exposed to it. It's not as clear cut as stressed out drivers get caught out.

There were toilets inside the building and in the flat where he was installing a cooker, just a matter of asking.

Bread drivers are the fastest drivers, not a joke just fact. Bloke I know Ernie drives a milk float round here he’s well known for speeding... Not as bad as Two Ton Ted…bloody hell I’m showing my age.

There were toilets inside the building and in the flat where he was installing a cooker, just a matter of asking. 2 words... Covid. They wouldn't have let him into the care home for a piss. For my 2 penneth... I have been a home delivery manager (and other very similar roles with different titles) for about 13 years, almost 9 of those were with ao.com. For context, until recently at AO, all home delivery drivers were self employed, the vast majority still are and a small amount of employed drivers that are on a "journey" to get their C1 licence. Having worked with 3 companies that contract work to self employed "contractors" I must say that, definitely not perfect, the way they deal with and treat the drivers is far better than any other company I've dealt with or worked for. Like every business, they will look to make efficiency gains where possible, one of them being the routing of rounds, HOWEVER... They do route in a 15 minute break for all 3.5T drivers to comply with the working time directive, however the drivers often used that as a gain on their time. They are paid for the time the routing system says it should take regardless of how long it actually takes (if they do a 10 hour round in 8 hours the driver has gained but if it takes him 12 hours he's lost) The one thing I can categorically say, is that if it has been reported to AO, then the driver 100% will be waking up in the morning unemployed. Brand awareness is HUGE for an online company and its no different for AO. Im on the fence and can see it from both angles... We've all been there, busting and desperation causes us to go somewhere that wouldn't normally cross our mind, but as I used to say, if you ask the customer and they say no there are hundreds of McPoo stops, supermarkets etc and if he was one of my drivers and it could be proved that he did urinate in the middle of the street, infront of ANY property, next to a branded van then I'd have no option but to relieve him (excuse the pun) of his duties. Maybe one that you could have just had a word and said "come on pal... Really?" but obviously wait until he had finished and shaken dry first.

It's not a care home it's sheltered accommodation ror over 55's and tenants have their own flats and can let people in such as him to fit a cooker. There is a lounge for people to have coffee mornings , bingo etc. Toilets in the shared areas are available to visitors as well as tenants private ones. You don't need to expose yourself in the street!
