Worryingly I know even with this disappointment whose more likely to finish in the top 6 next season as things stand for all his faults he’s extremely driven and you can see with a full squad they’ll be better next year Remember Barnsley the season before? Everyone was predicting great things and it all fell off the edge of a cliff. This was Luton’s chance they blew it. I wouldn’t be surprised if they weren’t relegated next year. A big part of that was losing their manager and their star striker. I don’t think Jones will be able to play as much into the underdog next season though, and that will be what does Luton in.

Because their players have over performed It's hard to repeat that Genuinely think their squad is poorer than at least 20 clubs this year and yet there they are, fair play to them it's a great achievement but would expect a Barnsley like fall next season Time will tell of course Possibly, like you say, who knows. Maybe Jones and the squad just click. I think so too. I think their entire squad value is around £1.5m if I remember right. Surely would have been the lowest valued squad to ever achieve promotion to The Prem if they got there? It's some achievement to get them where he has but proves even more to me that this job was WAY to big for him.

I thought it'd bring me joy to see him fail. It didn't, rather, I just want other teams to be aware of his failures here at stoke - and I think it'll be brushed under the carpet when he does eventually try to move on.
In short, my main thoughts around Luton are: crack on and good luck to you, but also that Jones is held accountable for his gross failures here.

Due to your 'alleged' love of Noel Edmonds style jumpers may I suggest Cardie B. Fresh and original and expresses a love of cardigans. The Cardie story has never been confirmed of course I do like a jumper, not a cardie though more ancient mariner big jumper thing, can't do the beard mind I guess the clothing budget taken up by jodhpurs and monocles.

Excuse my ignorance but why have Luton blown it? They’ve not spent big and aren’t losing a raft of players, nor have they relied on loans. Because their players have over performed It's hard to repeat that Genuinely think their squad is poorer than at least 20 clubs this year and yet there they are, fair play to them it's a great achievement but would expect a Barnsley like fall next season Time will tell of course To be fair, Barnsley lost their manager and their best player and captain. There's no sign of anyone moving for Jones is there?

Also, why did their captain wear a cravat during the game? Must have been boiling

Hard luck Nathan. I thought he was very honest regarding his failure here.He admitted that the job was too big for him at the time he got it. But says that he learned from the experience.

Forest are, by a long way, the best team in the playoffs so you can guarantee they won’t go up. Huddersfield are the worst so you can guarantee they will. I thought Luton would luck it as they had God on their side. When the Udders do go up it will be carnage. I reckon Derby’s 11 point record will be in serious danger. If Forest do manage to buck the trend I think they’ll do well next year like Brentford have. Luton failed to beat them over ,2 games so not like Hudders didnt deserve it. We outplayed Leicester at Filbert St but Leicester were far better organised than us second leg and went through. Hudders had a blatant pen not given first game, the Luton one wasn't for me, kicked the players foot but Luton failed to beat them in either game. Forest are a good side but no guarantee will beat Sheff U who are in good form. Annoyingly we should have taken 6 points from Forest and Huddersfield.Fine margins.

Huddersfield game was one person to blame . Forest very much our own fault.

Their season has only just ended, so players with higher ambitions can now ask their agents to send their names out. They did lose players when they were promoted from the L1. I'd be hard pressed myself to name any player in their team that managers will bite on, but the way the market works I'm sure there will be some. Whether they are worth it, again time will tell.

According to Mad Nath Luton going up would have been "possibly the greatest story in football" 😂
Hardly. Yes it would be been a fair achievement but it's not like Luton haven't been in the top flight before. It's hardly Leicester winning the Premier League or Forest being European champions.

For any of the clubs missing out in the play offs the test will be how they cope with the disappointment. I wouldn't be surprised if all 3 clubs struggled to make an impact next season.
This season was almost any 1 from 22, taking Fulham and B'mouth out of the mix, next season could well be similar, with a surprise package thrown in

Fulham were an exception this season . Bit like Newcastle when they went down. Take Pukki's goals from Norwich at this level and not much there compared to another dozen sides. A great goalscorer the difference between 10th say and top 2. I think be very open next season but hard to tell at this stage with a whole Summer to go. Oddly looking forward to it. If we can get a decent Campbell back be great and Souttar of course also. Is a bollox of a league and so hard to get out of.

Apparently some woman did something nasty to Nathan? (Or was that just his wishful thinking?...)
Do agree with expressing sheer joy with your team. But ffs leave the other team alone and hurling stuff at opposing fans? Just stop it!

But yes agree, they've been in Division 1 before Sky invented football, and compared to something like Leicester winning the league it's nothing.

Loves to build himself up. We had another manager who used to do that as well ....thankfully he fecked off to Sunderland and did bugger all else after that

It would be churlish and somewhat childish to laugh at Nathan after all he has done, not just for Luton but the excellent work he did for us too.
He is a great manager, a superb coach and a tactical mastermind

Yeah we had a guy here that used to self-promote like that - thankfully he fecked off up the Vale and back to Luton. Theirs is a good story though. Nathan & their fans have a right to feel proud. (Steady on, that's enough now)
But Leicester, that's on a "UFO landing in the center cirtle at Wembley" (With Nige making the call of course) level. A shocking achievement and for many of us why watching sport never gets old. (Except for some of our games of course) And the horrific loss of their owner the next year right in front of the fans - talk about ups and downs! What a story.
