Stoke was on the TV yesterday as a much needed levelling up area, the presenter was at Spode and then in Fountain Square, Hanley looked deserted. They were also at some foodie place that had moved into an old pottery building, could have been Spode but I'm not sure

Stoke on Trent will have more TV coverage this week than our City football club gets in a full season!

Tory central round here, they'll feel right at home.
Can just see Jacob Rees-Mogg tucking into his oatcake now.

The Cabinet meet in Stoke today. An opportunity for some clever reporter to link several News Stories together, with considerable investment in Stoke to be announced, with a number of Government initiatives. 1. After new photographs of our Solar system and galaxy are published it can be seen that there is a Black Hole at the centre of the galaxy. This black hole is to be named "Stoke on Trent", to recognize and reflect the amount of investment needed to regenerate the City. 2. There is going to be new research and development of an updated version of the Ceramic based "Chobham Armour" for military Tank and Vehicle protection. This latest armour will be produced at a new special facility based in Stoke, and supplied for advanced Main Battle Tanks to be made for the Ukraine. 3. As a political stalemate develops in Northern Island new thinking and ideas will be trialed in Stoke. An unlikely reaffirmation of a peace deal is to be announced to ensure that Stoke and Port Vale never again clash or come into armed conflict, and the next version of a power sharing executive between these opposing ideologies. The two opposing factions will be seperated by an imaginary border running down the middle of League 1 which will keep the two sides apart. 4. Warnings have been circulating about the population becoming complacent around Covid, with forecasts being made of a new resurgence in the virus. In view of this the Government is going to mount a shocking hard hitting advertising campaign about the need for effective hand washing, and the dangers of ignoring this regime. The adverts will feature a number of unwashed Port Vale supporters to show what can easily happen if care is not taken in washing properly. 5. Following the cabinet visit to Stoke, Boris Johnson will make a recorded broadcast about how Stoke should be historically held up as a beacon of hardwork, innovation, effort and creative ingenuity, saying "We lead the world in terms of ceramic production, producing World Class performance!

I was going to ask “What have the Tories ever done for us”, but I’m concerned that’ll spark a wankfest from the usual wankfestians and I’d rather avoid that messy situation. So I won’t pose that question.
