As they were in their pomp? : Stein, we would be top 2 no problem as they are now: has to be Collins > not sure how Arnie is these days & Nzonzi is playing in Qatar having said that even as they are now still have them, Arnie up front with Brown doing his running for him Nzonzi (being old & slow probably not affecting his game too much) Baker Powell midfield...tasty ...might no win too many tackles mind Arnies been doing fine for Bologna, playing up front in the middle, seen quite a few of their games

Hes practical saying come sign me MON. He's one of the few midfielders weve had in the last 30 years who can control the midfield and its tempo. I wonder if France would have called him up earlier if he wasn't at Stoke?

From back to front - Gordon Banks, Denis Smith, Alan Hudson, Bojan, John Ritchie.

If they were matching their peak form for us then probably Butland.
Otherwise, it's hard not to say Nzonzi or Bojan.

If O'Neill went and bagged Nzonzi, even an older slower Nzonzi I think that would buy him a lot of credit with supporters (apart from Sportsman who hated him) This club, more than most, has a tradition of bringing players back Genuinely think it would be a masterstroke Think he's playing in Qatar? Not going to happen is it... ... Wish it hadn't entered my consciousness

Wish it hadn't entered my consciousness I'd have the Zonz back in a heart beat as we all would, but seriously is there anywhere in the dark recesses of his mind the thought that he might grind out 46 matches in the hell-hole that is the English Championship?

Abdulaye Faye. And could we ask him to recommend a player or three?

Dave Rowson. Misunderstood, often under-appreciated. A giant amongst men.
*And FFP-friendly.

Arnie without a shadow of doubt. Can’t imagine what he’d make of the shower of shit he had to play alongside mind. There’d be a lot of flouncing and arms going out in exasperation.

For players that are still playing I'd probably take N'Zonzi back. I imagine he'd have a similar influence as to what Obi Mikel had.
As for players that aren't playing, most likely Fuller or Shawcross. Give me either Ric's flair or Ryan's passion!

N'Zonzi for me. I've never seen a player at Stoke so comfortable with the ball, time kinda slowed down around him sometimes. Excellent passer, amazing at retaining the ball and great at doing the 'ratting' in the midfield. My fave player of the Prem years for sure.
