Agree that Bursik has the potential to be a better than average keeper, but for now my main gripe is his constant rolling the ball out which puts the defence back under pressure! We are not Barca and haven’t got the players able to play out safely.
At least Bonham boots the ball up the pitch where no damage can be done.

it cant have helped him to be in and out of the team all season (especially mentally) but that was a shocking goal to let in at your near post. Needs regular games somewhere but I don't think he is justifying it in the championship.

Some fans really need to get their heads around where this club currently sits, both on and off the pitch and the journey we need to go on to try and get back to where we once were. It involves a whole load of lower league and young player investment - both financially and also in terms of time to develop - in the hope that they either develop enough to get up to top end Championship level and/or to the point where they can be sold to raise our finances further to invest in top level Championship talent. I hate to be the harbinger of doom here but it isn't going to be a very quick fix, so prepare yourselves for a mid to longish stay at this level unless we can strike on a formula like some clubs have done. As for Bursik, it's already been said. He's 21 years old and developing. There will be areas of his game where he's good, some where he's decent and some that needs improvement. Wasting your time mate They don’t grasp ffp and the reason for youth development Just throw some more money at it is the name of their game With all respect look at what Luton for example have spent, look at Huddersfield with a minimal spend, shows that it can be done. At the start of the season I doubt anyone would swap squads with either yet they’ve done something we haven’t, reaching the play offs. (Probably Chuck Notts Forest in there too) |

I know the lack of regular games can't have helped his rhythm, but equally there's a reason he's been dropped so many times and it's because he makes too many elementary mistakes too regularly which aren't acceptable even for someone of his age. His shot stopping is substandard and too many shots on target end up going in. He needs a loan somewhere for the season next season to give him the game time and the chance to play himself into form. Because I think he's too high a risk for us next season. He make a mistakes too often. We need a ready made, reliable keeper and it needs to be a priority.

Poor display from the team, Bursik looks completely out of sorts, kicking, crosses and should have done better with the goal. He owes Chester a drink for superb clearance of the line
