To quote Mignolet: "I had to bring him down really because otherwise it’s a goal and then it’s 1-1" The bloke is an outright cheat, no questions. |

There are lots of incidents regarding Atkinson, one that sticks out for me though is his little chat with Charlie Adam, letting him know how impressed he was that he had curbed his temper, Charlie then goes into a 50/50 and Atkinson has his red card out quicker than Charles Bronson can draw his pistol, he is a bloody cheat

Cmon Malcolm we may think that mate but the reality is they issue warnings to the bigger clubs and issue cards to the rest We constantly hear the pundits saying all we ask for is consistency of which is refereeing Liverpool v Manchester United in the same way they’d referee Barnsley v Northampton but we all know they don’t The other one that rankles is those pleading for consistency will in the big matches say “ that’s good refereeing just issuing a warning and getting on with the match and occasion “ but they’ll support the referee as he issues cards to the players in the lesser matches ….clamping down I think they call it Atkinson has shafted us of that there’s no doubt as I I’ve seen it from angles depending on who he’s refereeing I’ve never seen anything like his performances ( loosely ) at Sunderland away and Newcastle away …..that was utterly sinister and pre determined The sooner he’s gone the better |
