He’s a right back that plays for Man Utd. I think he was on loan at Norwich last season. He most certainly isn’t a right back,he’s the most prominently left footed left back you’re ever likely to see I wish I’d just said he was a full back now 😂

On paper this is a decent looking transfer window if we get in at least one and hopefully two experienced capable goalies.
We know , from the last time we got promoted, if we have 3 keepers on the books of the level of simonsen, Russell Holt and Carlo Nash, we are in business.
We have no chance of going up without quality competition for the keepers jersey.
Having a dodgy keeper, who saves a low percentage of shots against championship strikers , never got you promoted and never will

2 centre-backs on the move in the Champo. Wonder what level we're after? Cheap and cheerful cover, loan or a proper investment? www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/sunderland-leading-race-sign-arsenal-2434333Sunderland are leading the race to sign Arsenal defender Daniel Ballard following the breakdown of his proposed move to Burnley. The Northern Ireland defender was expected to join Vincent Kompany's Clarets and he travelled to Lancashire for a medical before the switch foundered over the weekend when the sides could not agree personal terms. Sunderland were also in the running to sign Ballard and with Burnley now out of the running, they have stepped up their interest in the 22-year-old. The deal is not yet done, with Sunderland's Championship rivals Millwall and Blackpool - both clubs where Ballard has spent loan spells - also understood to be keen on signing him, while there has also been interest from clubs abroad. www.footballinsider247.com/leeds-united-cresswell-sources/Millwall are in advanced talks to sign Leeds United defender Charlie Cresswell, Football Insider can exclusively reveal. A Leeds source has told Football Insider that talks with Millwall over a season-long loan deal are at an “advanced” stage

We had to sell the Stadium recently to prop up our finances and even with the removal of big earners like Allen etc, I don't see much money being spent by us unless we sell first. I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple/few loans come in over the next few weeks and maybe one or two free transfers. I hope that we conclude the majority of our business before the beginning of the season.

Although whether any Surridge or Brown-type fees will be on the agenda this summer is a moot point at this stage (certainly unless Collins moves, or we see a Bursik or Wilmot sale)

Paying a transfer fee has been the exact opposite of an investment. We are more likely to make money on frees and youngsters.

Unsure how we managed that. But I was basically just musing on the likelihood of us spending any money at all this summer. Probably odds against at this stage

Probably odds against at this stage Maybe a few hundred thousand on a young player with potential but I can't see see us spending anything on a player at or near their peak and any available money will go into wages rather than fees. Buying our way out of this league really isn't an option for us - it will be all about bringing players on and the team being better than the sum of its parts. You may well be right about Sobhi - which really puts pay to the idea of transfer fees being a good investment...

Charlie Cresswell at Leeds is Richards lad.
Be coincidental if Charlie & Liam Delap joined Stoke at the same time.. Shows how long ago it was that Liam & Richard gained promotion with us knowing their lads are now established footballers at Premier League clubs

When the season finished, I was of the same mind as you. However, the more I hear, the more I think we can’t due to the big black FFP cloud hanging over our heads. I get the impression we are hanging on by a thread financially.
